2026 Toyota Glanza New vs Old: What’s Changed?
Toyota has launched the updated Glanza, featuring a refreshed design, enhanced features and a new petrol engine. The 2026 model introduces Level 2 ADAS, an automatic transmission for the CNG variant and new design elements.
2026 Toyota Glanza New vs Old: What’s Changed?
Toyota has updated the Glanza premium hatchback in India with a refreshed design, additional features and a new petrol engine. The 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift also gets Level 2 ADAS and a new automatic transmission option for the CNG version. However, the changes are not limited to equipment, as the hatchback also gets revised styling at the front and two additional colour options.
With prices now starting at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated Glanza is more expensive than the outgoing model. Here is a detailed comparison of the new Toyota Glanza and the old model, covering design, features, safety, engine options and prices.
2026 Toyota Glanza New vs Old: Design Changes
The biggest styling changes on the 2026 Toyota Glanza are visible at the front. The facelift gets a larger honeycomb mesh grille with a gloss-black surround, silver inserts and a chrome strip along its upper edge. The Toyota logo has also been repositioned onto the bonnet.
The front bumper has been revised and now features new LED fog lamps. However, the LED projector headlamps remain unchanged. In comparison, the outgoing Glanza featured a more conventional front-end design. The side profile remains largely unchanged, with the same overall silhouette, 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles and chrome window-line garnish. The notable addition is a shark fin antenna, which replaces the conventional antenna on the older model.
At the rear, the facelift gets a slightly revised bumper but retains the C-shaped LED tail lamps, connecting chrome strip and integrated spoiler. Toyota has also expanded the colour palette from five options on the old model to seven on the facelifted version, with two new shades joining the lineup.
2026 Toyota Glanza New vs Old: Interior and Features
The cabin layout of the new Glanza remains largely similar to that of the outgoing model. It continues with a dual-tone black and beige interior, gloss-black dashboard inserts and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. Rear-seat space and the overall cabin layout have also been carried forward, keeping the Glanza suitable for everyday commuting and longer journeys.
However, Toyota has added three notable features to the updated model: ventilated front seats, a 6-speaker Clarion sound system and a wireless phone charger. The facelift continues to offer a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a head-up display, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, push-button start and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. Connected car technology is also available.
2026 Toyota Glanza New vs Old: Safety Features
Safety is one of the biggest upgrades in the 2026 Glanza. The facelift introduces Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), adding several driver assistance functions to the hatchback. These include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking.
The updated model also retains the 360-degree camera, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability programme, hill-hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system, auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. The outgoing Glanza did not offer the newly introduced Level 2 ADAS package, making this a significant addition to the updated model.
2026 Toyota Glanza New vs Old: Engine and Transmission
The 2026 Toyota Glanza replaces the older K-series 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a Z12E-series 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine, borrowed from the updated Maruti Baleno. The new engine is available with manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) options. A factory-fitted CNG option also continues to be offered.
The key change is the addition of an AMT option with the CNG powertrain. Buyers can now combine the lower running costs associated with CNG with the convenience of an automatic transmission. The outgoing model also offered petrol and factory-fitted CNG options, but the new powertrain combination expands the choices available to buyers.
2026 Toyota Glanza New vs Old: Price Comparison
The 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift is priced between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The outgoing model was priced between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift also introduces a new V (O) variant, which comes with ADAS. The price increase reflects the additional equipment and the revised powertrain, although the final difference will depend on the variant being compared.
The 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift brings several meaningful updates without changing the basic design or cabin layout of the hatchback. The addition of Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger and a CNG-AMT combination gives buyers more features and powertrain flexibility.
The outgoing Glanza, meanwhile, had a lower starting price and a four-cylinder petrol engine. Buyers considering the updated model should weigh the additional features against the higher prices and decide which powertrain best suits their driving requirements.
