The newly launched Tata Sierra EV and Mahindra BE 6 represent two different approaches to India’s fast-growing electric SUV segment. While the Sierra EV brings back a legendary nameplate with a modern electric avatar, focusing on comfort and a premium SUV experience, the BE 6 takes a more futuristic route with bold styling and advanced technology.
Both models are aimed at buyers looking for an electric SUV that offers more than just zero-emission mobility, making the comparison between the two interesting for those planning to upgrade to an EV.

The Tata Sierra EV is offered in five variants, with prices starting at Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The 63kWh RWD version is available in Pure, Pure S, Adventure and Empowered variants, with prices ranging from Rs 18.79 lakh to Rs 22.79 lakh. Meanwhile, the larger 75kWh RWD battery pack is available from the Adventure variant, priced at Rs 22.19 lakh, while the top-spec Empowered A variant costs Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Mahindra BE 6 is priced between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 28.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in 21 variants. It comes with two battery pack options - a 59kWh unit and a larger 79kWh pack - offering buyers multiple configurations across the lineup.

The Tata Sierra EV gets a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, featuring a 175 kW rear motor and a 103 kW front motor. This configuration produces a combined peak torque output of 504 Nm, while multiple drive modes help optimise performance and efficiency based on driving conditions.
The electric SUV is offered with two LFP battery pack options - a 63 kWh unit and a larger 75 kWh battery. The 75 kWh version offers a claimed MIDC range of 665 km and delivers over 500 km of real-world range, while the 63 kWh variant has a claimed range of 565 km. The Sierra EV also supports 120 kW fast charging, allowing it to gain over 250 km of range in 15 minutes. It further comes equipped with Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging capabilities.
On the other hand, Mahindra BE 6 is based on the born-EV INGLO platform and uses a rear-mounted, 3-in-one compact electric motor setup. It is available in a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration only and comes with two battery pack options, paired with a single-speed automatic transmission.
The 59 kWh battery pack produces 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, offering a claimed range of up to 557 km on a single charge. The larger 79 kWh battery generates 282-286 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, with a claimed range of up to 683 km per charge.
