Exterior Updates

The facelifted Punch adopts design elements seen on the Punch EV. The front now features vertically stacked headlamp housings, along with a revised grille and bumper. Unlike the electric version, the petrol model uses darker front trim instead of body-coloured elements.
The LED daytime running lights have a new light pattern. Side profile changes are limited to a new alloy wheel design. At the rear, the Punch now gets connected LED tail-lamps and a redesigned bumper. New exterior colour options are also expected.

Interior and Features

The updated Punch is expected to share its interior design approach with larger Tata models such as the Nexon and Altroz. Key changes include a new digital instrument cluster and a revised touchscreen infotainment system, which is likely to be a 10.25-inch unit, similar in size to the screen offered on higher variants of the current model.
The cabin also gets a two-spoke steering wheel and a touch-based climate control panel, both of which are already seen on other Tata vehicles. In addition, Tata is expected to introduce new trim and upholstery options. A 360-degree camera system is also likely to be offered, with complete feature details to be announced closer to the launch.

Engine and Transmission

A key update is the introduction of a turbo-petrol engine. The Punch is expected to use the 1.2L three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit currently available in the Nexon. The existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to continue with manual and AMT options. The petrol-CNG variant with a manual gearbox is also likely to remain on sale.

Market Positioning and Expected Price

The Punch facelift will continue to compete in the compact SUV segment against models such as the Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3. The current version is priced between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model is expected to be priced slightly higher, with estimates ranging from around Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
