Luxury automaker Bentley has officially announced that the new Continental GT Supersports will make its global debut on November 13th 2025, in New York. This will be the fourth iteration of the Supersports nameplate and the first Continental GT configured as a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model.
Powertrain
The upcoming Bentley Continental GT Supersports is likely to debut with the 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This engine is expected to have a tune that develops around 640 bhp. It will sport a RWD setup where the power will be sent only to the rear wheels. Some media reports suggest that Bently engineers have reworked the engine and gearbox setup to deliver a more direct and engaging driving experience.
Weight
The car is expected to weigh around 2,000 kg, making it the lightest Bentley in recent years. The focus of the new Supersports is on reducing mass. It is likely to feature carbon-fibre body panels, a lightweight roof, and forged alloy wheels. Carbon-ceramic brakes and an Akrapovic exhaust system can further contribute to lowering weight.
Design
Early teasers and test images show a more purposeful design compared to the standard Continental GT model. The Supersports will feature a fixed rear wing, quad exhausts and extended aerodynamic elements across the bumpers and side skirts. These elements aim to improve downforce and airflow rather than aesthetic distinction.
The interior will be configured with lightweight front sports seats and the rear seats may be removed entirely. Bentley has reportedly redesigned suspension and chassis components to align with the model’s rear-drive dynamics.
Position in Bentley’s Lineup
The Continental GT Supersports will sit above the Continental GT Speed as Bentley’s most performance-centric model. It will continue to use an internal combustion setup at a time when the company is shifting toward hybrid and electric powertrains.
The upcoming Continental GT Supersports will succeed the 2017 Supersports, which used a 6.0L W12 engine producing around 700 bhp. While the new car has fewer cylinders and less power on paper, the reduced weight and rear-wheel-drive configuration are expected to deliver comparable performance and a distinct driving character.
