The Indian division of the South Korean automaker Hyundai has today introduced the Creta Electric SUV in India with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model. The adoption of BaaS lowers the upfront cost of the Creta Electric enhancing its appeal to a larger section of the audience. EV ownership.
Hyundai Creta Electric: BaaS Price, Battery EMI
Hyundai India has added the BaaS option to the Creta Electric lineup in India bringing down the electric SUV's starting price to Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Under the BaaS model, customers can opt for battery financing with EMI starting at Rs 3.9 per kilometre. The ICE version of the Creta has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 10.90 lakh. Sharing this update the automaker stated that this initiative is aimed at reducing the initial acquisition cost for customers considering a switch to electric mobility.
Hyundai Creta Electric Receives Equipment Updates
Along with the introduction of the BaaS ownership model, Hyundai India has also rolled out two updates to the Creta Electric. This electric SUV now gets an integrated side foot step as standard, aimed at improving ease of entry and exit while enhancing its SUV stance. The company has also updated the Home Charger (HC) variants, which will now be supplied with a 7.4 kW wall box charger based on customer demand, offering a more convenient home charging solution.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Battery, Range & Key Features
The Hyundai Creta Electric continues with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery pack options. The Creta Electric offers a claimed range of up to 510 km on a single charge. It supports DC fast charging using which the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in a claimed time of 39 minutes. Some of the most notable features of the Creta Electric include:
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)
- Level 2 ADAS
- Single Pedal Drive
- Digital Key support
- Active Air Flaps
- 0 to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds
