Tata Sierra EV Launched at Rs 18.79 Lakh with 665 Km Range, Check Price List, Features, Safety and More

Tata Motors has today launched the Sierra EV in India at Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). With this launch Tata Motors has expanded its electric car portfolio in India to seven products. The Tata Sierra EV has been positioned between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV in the company’s EV lineup.

The Sierra EV is built on the company's Acti.ev+ architecture, the Sierra EV gets single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) and dual-motor quad-wheel drive (QWD) drivetrains., a claimed real-world driving range of over 500 km, Level 2+ ADAS, triple-screen infotainment, and a host of connected technologies. Bookings for the same are now open with deliveries scheduled to commence from July 15th 2026.

Tata Motors has introduced the Sierra EV with an introductory starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 18.79 lakh. It is available in five trim levels - Pure, Pure S, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered A. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger is available for an additional amount of Rs 49,000 and the QWD is available on the 75 Empowered A trim for an additional amount of Rs 1.2 lakh.

The Tata Sierra EV gets two battery pack options - 63 kWh and 75 kWh. It supports DC fast charging up to 120 kW and also has V2L (vehicle to load) and V2V (vehicle to vehicle) capabilities.

The 75 kWh battery pack delivers a claimed range of 510-530 km in real-world conditions, while the certified range is rated at up to 665 km. The battery supports DC fast charging, allowing the SUV to add up to 263 km of range in a claimed time of 15 minutes, while a 20 to 80 percent charge takes around 26 minutes under compatible charging conditions.

The 63 kWh battery pack returns a claimed range of 440-460 km in real-world conditions, while the certified range is rated at up to 565 km. The battery supports DC fast charging using which up to 238 km of range can be added in a claimed time of 15 minutes, while a 20 to 80 percent charge takes around 26 minutes under compatible charging conditions.

The top-spec Sierra EV comes equipped with Tata's Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) system featuring a 138.08bhp induction motor at the front and a 206.14bhp permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear. The combined setup develops 504Nm of torque and enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.8 seconds. Tata says it is the fastest homegrown SUV it has produced so far. The SUV also gets six terrain modes, 205mm ground clearance, Off-Road Assist, Transparent Mode, and more than 50 percent restart gradability for improved off-road capability.

The design of the Sierra EV retains the silhouette of its ICE counterpart which is reminiscent of the OG Sierra while incorporating contemporary styling elements. At the front, the Sierra EV features a closed-off grille with a full-width LED light bar, vertically stacked LED headlamps, and a sculpted bumper that gives it a distinctive EV identity. The upright stance, squared-off wheel arches, and prominent cladding reinforce its SUV character.

On the sides the Sierra EV carries forward the iconic wraparound rear quarter glass, one of the defining design elements of the original Sierra. Flush-fitting door handles, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, roof rails, and blacked-out pillars add to its contemporary appearance. At the rear, the SUV gets connected LED tail lamps spanning the width of the tailgate, a clean bumper design, and Sierra branding.

Tata says the Sierra EV has been engineered with cabin space as a key priority. The SUV rides on a 2,730 mm wheelbase and offers 973 mm of second-row legroom, a 900 mm couple distance and 622 litres of luggage capacity, expandable to 1,257 litres with the rear seats folded. The company also claims best-in-segment second-row headroom and panoramic sunroof dimensions.

The Sierra EV's cabin adopts a lounge-inspired layout led by Tata's Horizon View Triple Screen setup comprising a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, 12.3-inch passenger display, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air purifier, while entertainment features include Dolby Atmos, a 12-speaker JBL Black audio system, SonicShaft soundbar, Arcade.ev app suite, and AirConsole gaming integration.

Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with memory function, powered tailgate, 622-litre boot space, powered thigh support extender, augmented reality head-up display, digital key with smartphone access, 5 link suspension system with frequency selective damping, Auto Park Assist with Remote Park, and DrivePay, which enables UPI payments, EV charging payments, FASTag recharges and food ordering directly from the infotainment screen.

On the safety front, the Sierra EV is equipped with Level 2+ ADAS featuring 22 driver assistance functions, Intelligent Speed Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a 540-degree HD Surround View System with transparent underbody view and adaptive turn cameras. The SUV also receives the iRA.ev connected car suite with over 70 connected features, intelligent route planning for Android Auto, OTA updates, and more.
