Tata Sierra Unveiled Ahead of Its India Launch on November 25
Tata Motors has officially presented the new Sierra SUV in India, marking the return of a nameplate that was last sold in 2003. Prices will be announced on November 25.
Tata Sierra Exterior
The new Tata Sierra follows a box-shaped silhouette with connected LED DRLs and projector headlamps at the front. Black elements on the bumper, a faux skid plate and pixel-style fog lamps contribute to its appearance.
The side view features flush door handles, 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and black cladding. A blacked-out section between the pillars visually references the original Sierra. At the rear, the SUV carries a full-width LED light bar and a bumper design that mirrors the front.
Tata Sierra Interior
The cabin uses a black-and-grey theme and integrates three screens on the dashboard: a digital driver display and two infotainment screens that can share content. The steering wheel is similar to the one seen in the Curvv, with touch controls and an illuminated logo.
A panoramic sunroof extends to the C-pillar and the Sierra is configured as a five-seater with dual-tone upholstery. Key features include dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, rear sunshades, a 360-degree camera, Level-2 ADAS and an electronic parking brake.
Tata Sierra Expected Engine Options
The Sierra is expected to introduce Tata’s new upcoming 1.5L turbo-petrol engine, which may produce around 170hp and 280Nm. Manual and automatic transmissions are likely to be offered.
A 1.5L NA petrol engine is also expected, allowing Tata to position the SUV at a competitive starting price.
Additionally, the model is likely to continue with the familiar 1.5L diesel engine seen on the Curvv and Nexon, expected to deliver about 118hp and 260Nm with manual and automatic options.
Tata Sierra Expected Pricing
The Sierra will take on models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Curvv, Maruti Victoris, Honda Elevate and Volkswagen Taigun. Tata is expected to position the SUV competitively, with prices likely to start at around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
