727 Bhp BMW M5 Launched In India At Rs 1.99 Crore
BMW has launched the new M5 Hybrid coupe in India. The new M5 has been launched at Rs 1.99 crore. The new M5 comes with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 4.4L V8 TwinPower Turbo petrol engine and an electric motor. This powertrain pushes out a combined power oiutput of 727 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque.

The Indian division of the German luxury and sports car manufacturer BMW has launched its all new M5 sports coupe in India priced at Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom). The company has introduced the seventh-gen of M5 in India and is being offered through the CBU route. Sharing this update the company stated that the new M5 is available in India from today.
The M division of BMW has kept the enthusiasts happy with this one by giving it a M Hybrid powertrain while retaining the V8 engine. The new M5 continues to house the S68 4.4L V8 TwinPower Turbo petrol engine which works in tandem with an electric motor to produce a combined power output of 727 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque. The V8 engine puts out a stand alone power output of 585 bhp and 750 Nm of torque while on the other hand the hybrid system with 18.6 kWh battery pack puts out a power output of 197 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 8-speed M Steptronic transmission.
It sports the company's signature M xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system with the option to select rear-wheel drive. It also gets active rear wheel steering and adaptive M suspension setup.
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. As standard it has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph but with the M Driver’s package its top speed can be raised to 305 kmph. In the EV made it has a top speed of 140 kmph.
Being a hybrid car the new M5 also comes with an EV only mode where the car can travel up to 69 kms on EV only mode making the new M5 not only a hoot to drive but also kinder to the environment.
The new BMW M5 sports all new kidney grille and headlamp design with adaptive LED headlights. It gets a carbon fibre roof, ORVM caps and M rear spoiler. It also sports M twin exhaust, 20-inch M alloy wheels at the front and 21-inch at the rear and M compound brakes as standard with the option of upgrading to M ceramic brakes. On the inside it sports M steering wheel, ambient lighting, new gear level, M seats, Anthracite headliner, 655W amplifier with 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system and illuminated M5 logo.
On the safety front the new M5 boasts active and passive safety features. It gets ADAS, ABS, M Dynamic mode, M sports differential with dynamic stability control (DSC), dynamic brake control (DBC), cornering brake control (CBC), electronic parking brake with auto hold, ISOFIX mounts, performance control and active roll stabilization with active roll comfort.
