SUVs Propel Mahindra To Post Over 17 percent Growth In Monthly Car Sales For August 2024
Mahindra revealed its August 2024 sales data, with over 44,000 passenger vehicles sold, marking an 11.04% increase from the previous year. Of these, 43,277 units were sold domestically, showing a 16.11% year-on-year growth. Additionally, 1,393 units were exported, representing a 55.81% increase from the previous year. Veejay Nakra, President of M&M Ltd., expressed enthusiasm over the launch of the Thar Roxx SUV and aims to make the Thar franchise the leading SUV in its segment within 3 to 5 years.

Last month Mahindra managed to sell a total of 44,760 units of passenger vehicles (including PVs sold domestically plus exports from India). This sales figure represents a growth in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales by 6,506 units which further translates into 11.04 percent increase in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales. In August 2023 Mahindra posted a total passenger vehicle sales of 38,164 units.
Last month Mahindra managed to sell 43,277 units of passenger vehicles domestically in the Indian market. This sales figure represents a year-on-year growth in monthly domestic passenger vehicles sales by 6,007 units which further translates into 16.11 percent increase in year-on-year monthly domestic passenger vehicle sales. In August 2023 Mahindra posted a domestic passenger vehicle sales of 37,270 units.
Last month Mahindra exported 1,393 units of passenger vehicles from India. This represents a year-on-year increase in monthly passenger vehicle exports by 499 units which further translates into a 55.81 percent year-on-year growth in monthly passenger vehicle exports. In August 2023 Mahindra exported 894 units of passenger vehicles.
Commenting on the occasion, Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “We sold a total of 43,277 SUVs in August, a growth of 16% and 76,755 total vehicles. India’s Independence Day holds a significant place for us at Mahindra and this year we celebrated the day with the launch of the much-awaited THAR ROXX – ‘THE’ SUV. With Thar ROXX, we're setting our sights on making the Thar franchise the No. 1 SUV franchise (>12.5 Lakh segment) by volume within the next 3 to 5 years”.
