2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno to Break Cover on September 5: Here's What to Expect

The invite shared by Maruti Suzuki carried the silhouette of the 2026 Baleno which appears to retain the silhouette of the ongoing model. The current-gen Baleno was introduced back in 2022 and this update could put some spark in the premium hatchback segment in the country as small car sales have gathered momentum in the domestic market once again.

Talking about the competition the Baleno competes with the likes of Tata Altroz which was recently updated and the Hyundai i20. The new i20 debuted globally and is expected to make its way to the Indian market soon.

The 2026 Baleno is expected to receive a design update with revised font and rear design. At the front it can sport a new swept back headlight design which is reminiscent of the first-gen hatchback along with a refreshed front design. The rear is likely to get redesigned lights and bumper. It can also get a new alloy wheel design.

2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Expected Interior

On the inside the cabin of the upcoming Baleno can get a new dashboard layout with a bigger floating touchscreen unit, a fully digital instrument cluster, HUD, fast charging Type-C USB ports at front and rear and more.

Maruti Suzuki can update the safety package of the 2026 Baleno to offer features like Level-2 ADAS, electronic parking brake, 360-degree camera and more.

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno can get two new engine options. The hatchback can get the 1.2L 3-cyl naturally aspirated petrol engine offered in the Swift and Dzire. We can also witness the return of the 1.0L 3-cyl turbo-petrol engine to the Baleno with this update.

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno is anticipated to be priced a little higher than the current model which is on offer in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.17 lakh.
