Mini has given its Countryman SUV a more rugged makeover with the introduction of the 2027 Countryman Untamed Edition. The new variant is designed for buyers who want more off-road ability from the compact SUV, with a raised suspension, all-terrain tyres, standard all-wheel drive and several outdoor-focused upgrades.

The Untamed Edition will be available in the US in two versions: the petrol-powered Countryman S ALL4 and the electric Countryman SE ALL4. Production is scheduled to begin in November 2026, while customer deliveries are expected to start in early 2027.
Mini Countryman Untamed Edition: More Ground Clearance
The biggest changes have been made to the Countryman's suspension and underpinnings. Mini has increased the suspension height by 15mm, while the new wheel and tyre combination adds up to 19mm of additional ground clearance, depending on the powertrain. The SUV gets unique 19-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres. Mini has also recalibrated the ABS, stability control, steering and chassis to suit the new setup.
The increased ride height is aimed at improving the Countryman's approach and breakover angles, making it better suited to rough roads and light off-road use.
The Untamed Edition also comes with:

Mini Countryman Untamed Edition: Exterior Design
Mini has made several styling changes to distinguish the Untamed Edition from the standard Countryman. The front grille gets angular inserts with a Dark Steel surround, while the front and rear underbody protection elements have also been redesigned. Matte-black protective film has been added to sections of the wheel arches, side sills and bonnet to help protect the body from stone chips.
The SUV also gets an Untamed logo featuring a mountain-inspired design on the C-pillar. The 19-inch wheels feature five thick spokes inspired by traditional off-road steel wheels. They are finished with Dark Steel detailing and paired with the chunky all-terrain tyres.
Mini will offer the Untamed Edition in colours such as Hideaway Grey, Nomad Blue and Frozen Nomad Blue. The latter is notable as Mini's first matte exterior finish offered on a production model.
Mini Countryman Untamed Edition: Interior
The interior also receives a number of changes. The Untamed Edition comes with Vescin Nightshade Blue sport seats featuring perforated upholstery and knitted sections around the shoulders and headrests. The seat pattern takes inspiration from rock formations, while Cornflower Blue stitching and piping add contrast.
The dashboard and door panels feature knitted surfaces in a new Millennial Melange finish. Dark Steel replaces the standard Vibrant Silver trim, while blue accents are used around the cabin. Mini has also redesigned the centre-console storage box, adding elastic straps inspired by outdoor equipment such as backpacks and climbing gear. Rubber all-weather floor mats and a matching cargo-area mat are also available.
Mini Countryman Untamed Edition: Accessories
The Countryman Untamed Edition can also be equipped with outdoor-focused accessories. Mini has partnered with Italian roof-tent specialist AutoHome to offer a dedicated rooftop tent for the SUV. The tent uses integrated gas struts for easier opening and comes with weather-resistant materials, panoramic openings and a glass-fibre-reinforced structure.
Mini has also partnered with outdoor equipment maker Helinox for a range of matching folding camping chairs and tables.

Production of both versions will begin in November 2026, with deliveries expected to start in early 2027.
