Audi Q9 India Launch Confirmed For 2027: What to Expect From Audi’s Biggest SUV

Audi is set to bring its biggest SUV to India. The German luxury carmaker has confirmed that the Audi Q9 will launch in the Indian market next year. Positioned as the brand’s flagship SUV, the Q9 will offer a large cabin, premium features and powerful engine options.

Audi India Brand Director Balbir Singh Dhillon confirmed the upcoming Q9’s India arrival through a social media post. Measuring more than 5.3 metres in length, the Q9 will become Audi India’s largest and most spacious SUV when it goes on sale. The full-size SUV will compete in the premium luxury SUV segment and is expected to appeal to buyers looking for a three-row vehicle with a high level of comfort and technology.

The Q9 gets a large front grille with illuminated vertical slats, giving it a distinctive road presence. It also features split Digital Matrix LED headlights that can project warning symbols onto the road. At the rear, the SUV gets 3D curved digital OLED tail lights. Other features include soft-close automatic doors with collision-detection sensors and alloy wheels ranging from 20 to 23 inches.

The SUV will be offered with a standard seven-seat layout, while buyers will also get an optional six-seat configuration with power-adjustable second-row captain’s chairs. The dashboard features a triple-screen setup. It includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen with Android Automotive OS and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. The passenger screen also gets a privacy mode.

Globally, the Q9 is available with multiple powertrain options. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel produces 295bhp and 630Nm, while the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine develops 425bhp and 599Nm.

The performance-focused SQ9 gets a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 587bhp and 800Nm. The global Q9 range comes with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, Quattro all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension.

Audi is expected to reveal more details about the India-spec Q9, including its launch date, variants and pricing, closer to its market introduction.
