BMW 2002 Turbo: The Inspiration Behind the Special Edition

Introduced in 1973, the BMW 2002 Turbo was a landmark model for the German carmaker. It produced 170hp from its turbocharged engine and had a claimed top speed of more than 200kmph. The car arrived during the global oil crisis and stood out for bringing turbocharging technology to a series-production passenger car. Its performance-focused engineering helped establish a foundation for BMW's later turbocharged models.
The new BMW M2 xDrive Turbo Edition brings back elements of that legacy through its distinctive exterior and interior details while pairing them with contemporary performance.
