Hyundai Bayon Teased Ahead of October 26 Launch: Bigger Cabin, Panoramic Sunroof Confirmed

Hyundai is gearing up to introduce the Bayon in India on October 26 and the company has now revealed a fresh glimpse of its cabin. The latest image highlights the rear seat layout and confirms several features, including a panoramic sunroof. With a longer body and wheelbase than the Hyundai Venue, the upcoming SUV is expected to offer more space for rear passengers.
Key Highlights:
  • Hyundai Bayon will launch in India on October 26, 2026.
  • The SUV is over 4,200 mm long and is expected to offer more rear seat space than the Venue.
  • Features include a panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat and Bose sound system.
  • It will get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and CVT automatic gearbox options.

Hyundai Bayon: Rear Seat and Cabin Features

The latest image shared by Hyundai India offers the first look at the Bayon's rear seats. The company has used the phrase ‘space to stretch’, suggesting that rear seat comfort will be one of the key selling points of the upcoming SUV. The Bayon measures over 4,200 mm in length, making it more than 200mm longer than the Venue. It also gets a longer wheelbase, which could help improve legroom for rear passengers. However, the actual difference in cabin space will become clearer once the SUV is launched.
The image also shows a prominent centre tunnel that could affect foot space for the middle passenger. Adjustable headrests appear to be available only for the two outer seats.

Hyundai Bayon: Panoramic Sunroof and Other Features

The new image confirms that the Hyundai Bayon will come with a panoramic sunroof, a feature that is not available on the smaller Venue. Other visible features include a powered driver's seat and a Bose sound system, both of which are also offered on the Venue. The Bayon's cabin design appears similar to that of the new-generation Hyundai i20 revealed a few months ago.
It is expected to feature a curved panoramic display setup with two 12.3-inch screens, combining the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.

Hyundai Bayon: Engine and Gearbox Options

The Hyundai Bayon will be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a manual gearbox and a CVT automatic. Further details about the SUV's variant lineup and equipment distribution are expected to be announced at launch.

Hyundai Bayon: Expected Price and Positioning

The Bayon will sit between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai India's SUV lineup. Its expected ex-showroom price could range from Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. With its larger dimensions, panoramic sunroof and feature-rich cabin, the Bayon will target buyers looking for a compact SUV with additional space and comfort. Its pricing and rear seat practicality will be important factors in determining how it compares with other SUVs in the segment.
