Lamborghini Urus SE Performante Debuts Globally as Brand's Most Powerful SUV

Lamborghini has brought back the Performante nameplate for its flagship SUV with the introduction of the new Urus SE Performante. Positioned as the most powerful SUV in Lamborghini’s lineup, the new model builds on the plug-in hybrid Urus SE with more power, improved aerodynamics, reduced weight and track-focused upgrades.

Key Highlights:
  • Lamborghini Urus SE Performante revealed as the brand’s most powerful SUV yet
  • Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid setup producing 812hp and 1,000Nm torque
  • Offers 0-100kph acceleration in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 312kph
  • Gets performance upgrades over the standard Urus SE, including revised transmission tuning and new Rally mode
The Urus SE Performante arrives after the discontinuation of the non-hybrid Urus Performante in 2024. While it retains the hybrid setup from the standard Urus SE, Lamborghini has made several changes to enhance performance and driving dynamics.

Lamborghini Urus SE Performante: Powertrain and Performance

The Urus SE Performante uses the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed automatic transmission. The electric motor draws power from a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery placed under the rear cargo floor.
The combined output now stands at 812hp and 1,000Nm of torque, which is 12hp and 50Nm more than the standard Urus SE. Compared to the previous non-hybrid Urus Performante, the new model produces 146hp and 150Nm more.
Lamborghini claims the Urus SE Performante can sprint from 0-100kph in 3.3 seconds and reach 200kph from standstill in 10.8 seconds. This makes it 0.1 seconds and 0.4 seconds quicker than the regular Urus SE. The top speed remains electronically limited to 312kph, while the SUV continues to offer around 60km of electric-only driving range.
The power is sent to all four wheels through the updated 8-speed automatic transmission. Lamborghini has also revised the engine management software and transmission calibration to improve throttle response and reduce torque lag.

New Driving Modes and Suspension Updates

The Urus SE Performante gets multiple drive modes including Strada, Sport, Corsa and EV modes. It also introduces a new Rally mode, designed specifically for improved driving excitement on loose surfaces.
The SUV features a new AURA dual-chamber air suspension system, which Lamborghini says helps reduce body roll during high-speed driving while improving ride comfort. The model also gets an Integrated Power Brake (IPB) system combined with a 6D vehicle dynamics computer, improving braking response and overall manoeuvrability.

Lighter Construction and Aerodynamic Improvements

Despite carrying a hybrid powertrain, Lamborghini has managed to reduce the SUV’s weight by 32kg compared to the Urus SE. The weight reduction comes from the use of carbon fibre components, lighter sound insulation materials, a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system and new lightweight interior materials.
The Urus SE Performante now weighs 2,473kg.
For improved aerodynamics, Lamborghini has added exposed carbon fibre elements on the bonnet, roof, side skirts, rear diffuser and roof wing. The SUV also gets new S-Duct hood intakes that improve cooling and help reduce aerodynamic drag by 3 percent compared to the standard Urus SE.
The Performante produces 23 percent more downforce than the regular model. New NACA ducts on the front end direct cooler air towards the brakes, improving braking efficiency by 8 percent.

Lamborghini Urus SE Performante: Exterior and Interior Changes

The Lamborghini Urus SE Performante rides on 22-inch or 23-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres as standard. Buyers can also opt for Pirelli Scorpion Winter 2 tyres or Bridgestone Potenza Race semi-slick tyres for enhanced performance.
Inside, the SUV gets new ‘Corsa Tex’ Dinamica upholstery, a suede-like microfiber material that contributes to the weight reduction. Leather upholstery remains available as an option. The cabin also features a new steering wheel with a carbon fibre bezel.
The dual 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system continue from the Urus SE, but receive new graphics inspired by Lamborghini’s supercar lineup.

Lamborghini Urus SE Performante India Launch

Lamborghini has not yet confirmed the India launch timeline for the Urus SE Performante. However, a launch is expected since the previous Urus Performante was available in the Indian market.
Currently, the Urus SE is the only version of the SUV sold in India and is priced at Rs 4.57 crore (ex-showroom).
