Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift Crosses 1 Lakh Bookings in India

Maruti Suzuki's Brezza facelift has received over 1 lakh bookings since its launch in India on July 24, 2026. The updated compact SUV gets changes to its design, powertrain options and technology as it continues to compete with models such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.
Key Highlights:
  • Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift receives over 1 lakh bookings since its launch on July 23, 2026.
  • The updated SUV gets a new 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine with 109bhp and 170Nm.
  • The Brezza CNG retains its 328-litre boot space with an underbody-mounted CNG tank.
  • The Brezza has crossed 15 lakh cumulative sales in India since its debut in 2016.
The Brezza has also crossed 15 lakh cumulative sales in the Indian market, marking another milestone for the model that was first introduced in 2016. The latest update comes as competition in the compact SUV segment continues to increase, with buyers having several options across different price points and feature levels.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift: What's New?

The overall shape of the Brezza remains largely unchanged, but the facelift brings a few styling updates. These include triangular fog lamp inserts, gold accents on the front grille, redesigned door cladding and newly styled alloy wheels.
Maruti Suzuki has also expanded the SUV's powertrain options with the introduction of a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine continues to be available, along with the factory-fitted CNG option.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift: Engine and Gearbox Options

The new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine produces 109bhp and 170Nm of torque. It is paired with a new six-speed manual gearbox, which makes its debut on the Brezza. A six-speed automatic option could be introduced at a later stage.
The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine continues to produce 100bhp and 139Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission with this engine.
The same 1.5-litre engine is also offered with the CNG powertrain, where it produces 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque.
According to Maruti Suzuki, the turbo-petrol version delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of up to 20 kmpl, while the 1.5-litre petrol version offers up to 21 kmpl. Actual fuel efficiency may vary depending on driving conditions and usage.

Brezza CNG Gets an Underbody-Mounted Tank

One of the key changes to the Brezza CNG is the underbody-mounted CNG tank, a setup that first appeared on the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. The arrangement allows the CNG version to retain its full 328-litre boot capacity. This addresses a common limitation of factory-fitted CNG vehicles, where the tank often takes up a significant portion of the luggage compartment. The additional luggage space could make the CNG variant more practical for buyers who want lower running costs without giving up everyday usability.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Continues to Face Competition

Since its launch in 2016, the Brezza has remained an important model in Maruti Suzuki's SUV portfolio. Its latest facelift adds a turbo-petrol option to the existing naturally aspirated petrol and CNG choices. The SUV competes with the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet, among other compact SUVs. With its updated styling, revised powertrain lineup and improved boot space in the CNG version, the facelift aims to maintain the Brezza's position in this competitive segment.
