Mercedes-Benz CLA Secures 5-Star Euro NCAP Safety Ratings: Details

German automaker Mercedes-Benz is one of the most well known luxury car brands in the world. With occupant and pedestrian safety taking the centre stage the crash test ratings of products has become of paramount importance. Mercedes-Benz has wrapped up the 2025 safety cycle on a strong note, with the CLA securing a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating in the latest series of tests.
Tested in its electric and petrol forms, the four-door CLA coupe posted 94 percent for adult occupant protection, 89 percent for child occupant protection and 93 percent for vulnerable road user protection.
Sharing this information Euro NCAP stated that 2025 has been its busiest year till date, with more models assessed than ever before. The CLA wasn’t the only one hitting the top score. The Mazda CX-5, Deepal S05, Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen T-Roc and the hydrogen-powered Hyundai Nexo also finished with five stars in the December round. The CX-5 even matched the CLA with a 93 percent rating for vulnerable road user protection.
Euro NCAP also highlighted how optional ADAS packages continue to influence outcomes. The Kia EV4 is the latest example: four stars with standard equipment, and five stars when fitted with the optional DriveWise Safety Pack.
Aled Williams, Programme Director of Euro NCAP, said, “As 2025 draws to a close, Euro NCAP continues to see impressive scores roll in. This is especially pleasing given this year has seen more cars tested than any previous year in the organisation’s history. For the most part, car manufacturers continue to respond to our impartial and rigorous testing, improving the safety of their models, generation by generation.”
