Ola S1Z Electric Scooter Launched in India at Rs 79,999; Gets Bharat Cell LFP Battery and 301 Km Claimed Range
Indian EV startup Ola Electric has launched the S1Z electric scooter in India with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 79,999. The Ola S1Z is the company's first mass-market model to use the indigenously developed Bharat Cell LFP battery technology. The S1Z has been introduced with 3.1 kWh and 5.1 kWh battery pack options, with the latter offering a claimed range of up to 301 km on single charge.
The Ola S1Z has been positioned as an affordable electric scooter aimed at the value segment. The company says its locally developed and manufactured LFP cells have helped reduce battery costs, allowing the technology to be offered at a lower price point.
Ola S1Z: Price & Variants
The new Ola electric scooter is available in two battery configurations. The 3.1 kWh variant is priced at Rs 79,999, while the 5.1 kWh version costs Rs 99,999 (both ex-showroom). The smaller battery offers a claimed IDC range of up to 179 km, while the larger battery increases the claimed range to 301 km. The prices announced by Ola Electric are introductory. Deliveries of the 3.1 kWh version will begin in December 2026, while deliveries of the 5.1 kWh variant are scheduled to commence in March 2027.

| Ola S1Z | 5.1 kWh | 301 | Rs 99,999 |
Ola S1Z: Design
The Ola S1Z rides on 12-inch wheels across both variants. The electric scooter will be offered in four colour options - White, Anthracite, Sky Splash Blue and Matcha Green. Ola Electric has focused the S1Z's positioning on affordability rather than adding extensive premium hardware. The company describes the scooter as a product designed to bring more technology and safety to the value segment.
Ola S1Z with Bharat Cell LFP Battery Technology
The biggest highlight of the Ola S1Z is its battery technology. It is the first scooter range in India to use Ola Electric's indigenously developed Bharat Cell LFP technology in the mass-market segment. The S1Z uses Ola's 46-series LFP cell platform, developed at the company's Battery Innovation Centre and manufactured at the Ola Gigafactory. Ola says developing the cells in-house helps reduce battery costs, which account for a significant portion of the overall cost of an electric vehicle. The company also claims that the LFP chemistry brings improved safety and longer life, while allowing the technology to be offered at a mass-market price.
Ola S1Z: Features
The Ola S1Z gets MoveOS 5, bringing a range of connected and software-based features to the scooter. Its equipment list includes cruise control, advanced regenerative braking, reverse mode and GPS. The scooter also supports OTA software updates, along with geo, time and mode fencing. Riders can access ride statistics and energy insights through the Ola Electric app. Another feature is Easy Park, which according to the company is designed to make manoeuvring the scooter in tight parking spaces easier.
Ola S1Z: Range
The Ola S1Z is available with two battery packs, with the 3.1 kWh version offering up to 179 km of claimed range. The larger 5.1 kWh battery pack version offers a claimed range of up to 301 km on a single charge.
