The 2024 TVS Jupiter 110 is here with significant upgrades that promise a better riding experience. With changes made to its design, features, and engine, TVS has focused on providing a more refined and premium scooter. This first ride review covers everything from design changes to performance improvements, offering a detailed insight into what the new Jupiter 110 has to offer.

Design and Features

The TVS Jupiter 110 has undergone noticeable design changes, giving it a fresh, modern look. At the front, the scooter features a new connected DRL integrated with the indicators, offering a sleek appearance. TVS has followed the trend of using connected lighting seen in other recent vehicles, and it works well for the Jupiter, adding to its premium feel. The front mudguard is made of metal, adding durability, while the body panels come with a combination of piano black and body-coloured finishes, enhancing the overall aesthetics.

The scooter rides on 12-inch wheels. The top variant of the Jupiter 110 offers a petal disc brake at the front, which is a welcome addition for improved braking performance. The rear, however, continues to use a drum brake setup.

In terms of features, the Jupiter 110 now comes with a full-LED headlamp, adding to the scooter's modern appeal. TVS has also repositioned the fuel tank to the floorboard area, resulting in a significant increase in boot space to around 33 litres—enough to comfortably accommodate two half-face helmets. The scooter also comes with a full-digital instrument cluster that displays speed, fuel level, time, and other essential information. The SmartX connect feature enables Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to receive call alerts and use turn-by-turn navigation, enhancing convenience and safety.

The Jupiter 110 is powered by a 113cc engine that delivers around 8 bhp of power and 9.8 Nm of torque. The scooter offers decent acceleration, making it suitable for city commuting and occasional highway rides. The maximum speed is approximately 85 km/h, which is adequate for its segment.

The ride quality of the Jupiter 110 has improved, thanks to a reduction in weight—now at 105 kg, down from the previous 109 kg. This weight reduction enhances the scooter's manoeuvrability and handling, making it feel lighter and more agile. The suspension setup, consisting of telescopic forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear, provides a comfortable ride, although my test ride was limited to the smooth track at the TVS plant.

TVS has also introduced an emergency braking feature that activates the hazard lights when sudden braking is detected at speeds above 60 kmph, alerting other road users to your actions and improving safety.

Conclusion

The 2024 TVS Jupiter 110 presents itself as a well-rounded package for daily commuting. While the initial torque could have been slightly better to meet expectations, it still offers sufficient power for city use. The absence of a kick-start option might be a drawback for some which is there in base variants but not in top variants, but the overall design, improved ride quality, and the addition of modern features like the LED lighting, digital cluster, and SmartX connect make it a compelling choice in the 110cc scooter segment.

With a starting price of Rs 73,767 for the base variant and going up to Rs 87,225 for the top variant with disc brakes, the TVS Jupiter 110 offers a good blend of features, design, and performance. It is an attractive option for those looking for a stylish, reliable and feature-rich scooter for their daily commutes.
