Mahindra offers the Thar in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 9.99 to Rs 17.63 lakh.

Tata Motors offers the Sierra in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 21.29 lakh.

The Mahindra Thar measures 3,985mm in length, 1,820mm in width, 1,855mm in height and has a wheelbase spanning 2,450mm.

The Tata Sierra measures 4,340mm in length, 1,841mm in width, 1,715mm in height and has a wheelbase spanning 2,730mm.

The Mahindra Thar is available with three engine options - the 1.5L turbo-diesel engine producing 116.93bhp and 300 Nm of torque, the 2.0L 4-cyl turbo-petrol engine producing 150.19bhp and 320Nm of torque and the 2.2L 4-cyl turbo-diesel engine producing 130.07bhp and 300 Nm of torque. The transmission options on offer include - 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. The Thar gets RWD as well as 4WD options.

The Tata Sierra is also available with three engine options - the 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 104bhp and 145Nm of torque, the 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 116.38bhp and 280Nm of torque and the 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 157bhp and 255Nm of torque. The Sierra is available with multiple transmission options like - 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT and 7-speed DCA.
