Tata Sierra EV Launch Soon: Expected Price, Battery Options, Range and Features Explained

After making a strong comeback in its electric avatar, the Tata Sierra EV is now ready to enter the market. Tata Motors has officially teased the new electric SUV ahead of its launch on June 30, creating plenty of excitement among buyers. While the company is yet to reveal the prices, we expect the Sierra EV to be positioned as a premium yet practical electric SUV. Here’s what we know so far about its expected pricing, range, features and variants.
The Tata Sierra EV will sit between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV in Tata’s electric SUV lineup, just like the ICE Sierra is positioned between the Curvv and Harrier. This gives us a fair idea of where the pricing could land.

Tata Sierra EV: Expected Price

Tata Sierra EV will likely have a price tag of around Rs 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-spec variants could go up to around Rs 28 lakh.
According to Tata's current EV pricing strategy, its electric versions are usually around Rs 5-7 lakh more expensive than their petrol/diesel counterparts. If priced around these levels, the Sierra EV could undercut the Mahindra BE6 by around Rs 1-2 lakh, making it a strong rival in the segment.

Will the Sierra EV Get an All-Wheel Drive Setup?

One of the biggest highlights already confirmed for the Sierra EV is the availability of QWD (dual electric motors). However, this added capability will come at a premium.
For reference, the Harrier EV QWD costs around Rs 1-1.1 lakh more than the equivalent single-motor version. A similar price difference can be expected for the Sierra EV QWD as well.

Tata Sierra EV: Battery Pack and Range

In terms of battery options, the Sierra EV is expected to come with a 65kWh battery pack as standard. This would be larger than the base battery packs offered by some rivals, including Mahindra’s 59kWh units.
The smaller battery pack could deliver a claimed range of over 500km. Higher variants are expected to get a larger 75kWh battery pack, which could offer a range of more than 600km. The QWD version is likely to be available only with the larger battery pack.

Tata Sierra EV: Design, Styling, Features and Interior

Design-wise, the electric Sierra stays close to the ICE version. Apart from EV-specific elements like aero-optimised wheels, a QWD badge and a closed-off front grille, it will be difficult to tell the two apart. The same approach is expected inside the cabin, with the Sierra EV likely sharing most features with the regular Sierra.
Expected features could include a triple-screen dashboard setup, Level-2+ ADAS, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and more. A major addition could be a 540-degree camera system, which would improve visibility and make the Sierra EV more practical for city driving as well as off-road use.
With its expected pricing, long range and premium feature list, the Tata Sierra EV could become one of the most important launches in Tata’s electric SUV lineup.
