The recall concerns the Parking Assist ECU, a component of the Panoramic View Monitor (PMV) system. An error in the ECU software may cause the rearview image to freeze briefly when reverse gear is engaged shortly after ignition or fail to display after restarting the vehicle within specific timing conditions.
Toyota confirmed that no incidents related to this defect have been reported in India. The company said the recall is being undertaken as a precautionary step to ensure proper functioning of the system.
