TVS Ntorq 150 Launched in Nepal: Engine, Features and More

TVS Motor Company has expanded its performance scooter range in Nepal with the launch of the Ntorq 150. The new scooter is being sold through Jagdamba Motors dealerships in the country. It is available in three colour options - Stealth Silver, Racing Red and Turbo Blue.

The Ntorq 150 is positioned as a sportier and more powerful offering in TVS' scooter line-up. It uses a 149.7cc petrol engine and comes with features such as traction control, ABS and TVS SmartXonnect connectivity.

The TVS Ntorq 150 is powered by a 149.7cc, single-cylinder, three-valve, air-cooled petrol engine. The motor uses TVS' O3C technology and produces around 13bhp and 14.2Nm of torque. TVS claims that the scooter can accelerate from 0-60kmph in 6.3 seconds, while its top speed stands at 104kmph. Compared to the 125cc Ntorq, the 150cc engine gets a larger bore and longer stroke, along with revisions to the airbox and exhaust system.

The three-valve setup uses two intake valves and one exhaust valve. According to TVS, this allows more air to enter the combustion chamber and helps the engine breathe better under higher loads.

The Ntorq 150 also gets TVS' O3C technology, which uses oil to help control combustion chamber temperatures. This is aimed at maintaining consistent engine performance while also supporting long-term durability. Another technology on the scooter is iGo Assist. It works with the Integrated Starter Generator to provide electrical assistance during acceleration.

For the Nepal market, the Ntorq 150 comes with single-channel ABS and traction control. The latter is designed to reduce excessive wheelspin during acceleration, particularly on slippery surfaces.

The scooter uses a telescopic fork at the front and a coil-spring hydraulic unit at the rear. The suspension setup has been tuned for a sporty character, although there is no adjustable suspension or electronic damping system.

The Ntorq 150 follows a design inspired by stealth aircraft, according to TVS. It features projector headlamps, angular combination lamps, aerodynamic winglets, exposed handlebars and a short exhaust.

At the rear, the scooter gets the familiar T-shaped lighting treatment seen on the larger Ntorq models. The Nepal-spec version also comes with TVS SmartXonnect, offering more than 50 connected features.

The scooter gets 22 litres of under-seat storage along with an E-Z centre stand, adjustable brake levers, hazard lamps and follow-me-home headlamps. It also comes with a 5.8-litre fuel tank. The combination of Street mode and idle start-stop technology is expected to help improve efficiency during regular city riding.

The TVS Ntorq 150 is being retailed through Jagdamba Motors dealerships and is initially available in Stealth Silver, Racing Red and Turbo Blue. TVS considers Nepal an important market, particularly because of its young and growing two-wheeler customer base. The Ntorq 150 marks the company's latest move to expand its performance-oriented scooter portfolio in the country.
