Volkswagen ID. Tiguan Electric SUV Debuts with 600 Km Claimed Range
Volkswagen has officially unveiled the ID. Tiguan, a new all-electric SUV designed to serve as the direct successor to the current ID.4 and ID.5 models. As part of the manufacturer's updated electrification strategy, the vehicle adopts a more traditional SUV silhouette, moving away from the crossover-style aesthetics of its predecessors. While the ID. Tiguan marks a significant shift toward electrification, the company has confirmed that the existing internal combustion engine-powered Tiguan will remain available with its current petrol, diesel, and hybrid powertrain options.
The new model is built upon the MEB+ platform and incorporates Volkswagen’s 'Pure Positive' design language. The exterior features a closed-off front grille, sharp body lines, and illuminated branding at both the front and rear. Practicality is a focus for the new design, which offers a 534-litre boot capacity supplemented by an additional 32-litre front trunk. Pre-sales for the European market are scheduled to begin on October 13th.
