BMW Motorrad looks set to revise the design of its super naked, S 1000 R. The German automaker have introduced three iterations of the model: the introductory 2014 model, a revised 2017 model and a complete revamp model in 2021. The 2025 BMW S 1000 R would be the fourth edition.
A leaked design registration showcases a completely new front fascia. The design reveals that the bike would boast split headlamp units, unlike the single headlamp unit in the 2021 version. Additionally, the bike with its revamped front fascia looks similar to the latest version of the S 1000 RR superbike.
Various reports state that while the front fascia has been revised, the 2025 BMW S 1000 R would only receive minor updates since there was a complete revamp of the bike in 2021. Moreover, the only change appears to be cosmetic as the bike continues to have identical bodywork including the fuel tank, fenders and tail section, among others.
The bike in the design looks like the standard S 1000 R and not the sportier M 1000 R, since the bike is equipped with conventional alloy wheels and has a chunkier lower fairing section.
The 2025 S 1000 R receives a small air intake between the split headlamps with a steering damper underneath it which is visible, a stark difference from the outgoing model.
BMW Motorrad’s plans regarding the engine remain unclear as the current iteration of the S 1000 R boasts a 999cc inline-four engine producing 167.29 bhp and 114 Nm of torque. However, it missed out on S 1000 RR’s ShiftCam variable valve timing and lift system. The sportier M 1000 R boasted a 999cc inline-four engine producing 212.91 bhp and 113 Nm of torque.
