2026 Volkswagen T-Roc SUV has made its global debut ahead of its public showcase on IAA Mobility scheduled to take place next month in Milan. Based on the MQB evo platform the second-gen T-Roc has grown in size and now comes with exteriors, interiors, safety and features update.
2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: Design & Dimensions
VW has taken the wraps off the second-generation T-Roc, nearly eight years after the introduction of the first-gen model. The new version has grown in size and measures 4,373 mm in length, which is 122 mm longer than its predecessor. The wheelbase has gone up by 28 mm and now spans across 2,631 mm, improving cabin space. Aerodynamic revisions have helped bring the drag coefficient down to 0.29.
The SUV features slimmer LED headlamps with a full-width light bar, illuminated VW logos, and redesigned LED taillamps. Wheel sizes now extend up to 20 inches, while six exterior colour choices are available, including new shades with the option of a contrasting black roof.
2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: Interior & Features
Inside, the dashboard now gets fabric surfacing along with higher-quality trim materials. Around 20 percent of plastics used in the cabin are recycled. The layout has been revised with larger touchscreen options - 10.4-inch or 12.9-inch depending on the variant. A head-up display and rotary touch dial controller have also been added.
Seating options include 14-way electrically adjustable seats with a massage function. Luggage space has increased to 475 litres, adding more practicality over the outgoing model.
2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: Powertrain
The new T-Roc is underpinned by the MQB Evo platform and will be sold only with electrified petrol engines. At launch, two mild-hybrid versions of the 1.5L eTSI engine will be offered, producing 114.41 bhp and 147.94 bhp hp, both paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The company has also stated that at a later stage it will be offering a more powerful hybrid version of this SUV with a 2.0L TSI engine and AWD system. Volkswagen has confirmed a performance-oriented T-Roc R-Line for 2027.
2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: Safety
The SUV introduces Volkswagen’s latest driver assistance tech, including Travel Assist for highway driving, Park Assist Pro with remote control functionality, and an exit warning system that alerts passengers before opening the door.
2025 Volkswagen T-Roc: Launch
Sales of the new T-Roc in Europe will begin in November 2025. The first-generation convertible version will remain on sale until 2027. The model will not be introduced in the United States, where the Taos continues as the entry SUV.
