2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650 Revealed: Gets New Suspension, Radial Brakes and Quick Shifter

The Kawasaki Ninja 650 is set to enter the 2027 model year with more than just a fresh set of colours. The middleweight sports bike has received important hardware upgrades, including new front suspension and brakes, along with updates to its electronics package. While the overall design remains familiar, the changes could make the Ninja 650 sharper and more capable on the road.
Key Highlights:
  • New Showa 37 mm SFF-BP inverted front fork
  • Upgraded four-piston radial-mount front brake calipers
  • Quick Shifter available as an accessory for the first time
  • Updated TFT display with navigation and voice-command functions

2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650: New Suspension and Braking Hardware

The biggest change on the 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is at the front. The existing 41 mm telescopic fork has been replaced by a Showa 37mm SFF-BP inverted fork. The rear suspension has also received a revised spring rate.
Kawasaki has upgraded the braking hardware as well. The bike continues to use twin 300 mm front discs, but the existing axial-mount calipers have been replaced by opposed four-piston radial-mount units. These changes should give the Ninja 650 improved braking performance and better handling, particularly during harder riding.

2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650: More Technology for 2027

The Ninja 650 will also get additional electronic features. For the first time, Kawasaki will offer its Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) as an accessory. The system allows clutchless upshifts while accelerating.
The 4.3-inch colour TFT display has been retained but gets a redesigned layout. Kawasaki has also expanded its Rideology smartphone connectivity, with the updated system adding navigation and voice-command functions.

2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650: Design

Visually, the 2027 Ninja 650 continues with the familiar design. The most noticeable change is a slightly wider front fender, while the rest of the styling remains largely unchanged.
The international model is offered in Lime Green, Metallic Flat Spark Black with Metallic Carbon Grey, and Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Grey with Metallic Spark Black. The colour options for India could be different.

2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650: Engine and Dimensions

Power continues to come from the 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, producing 67 bhp and 64 Nm. The torque output is higher than the current Indian-spec model's 62.1 Nm. A six-speed gearbox continues to be offered.
The European-spec 2027 Ninja 650 has a 785 mm seat height, 194 kg kerb weight, 1,395 mm wheelbase and 125 mm ground clearance. The current India-spec model has a 1,410 mm wheelbase, 130 mm ground clearance and is around 2 kg heavier.

2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650: India Price Expectation

The current Kawasaki Ninja 650 is priced at Rs 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. With the hardware and technology upgrades, the 2027 model is expected to command a higher price when it arrives in the country. It could move into the Rs 8 lakh price bracket.
