The 790 Duke is a street naked motorcycle and its latest iteration continues to be powered by the 799cc parallel-twin engine. Unveiling this motorcycle KTM revealed that the 2027 790 Duke is scheduled to arrive at dealerships in global markets by the end of July 2026. However, KTM India is yet to confirm whether the 2027 model year 790 Duke will make its way to the Indian market.

2027 KTM 790 Duke: Design

The 2027 KTM 790 Duke adopts a new design language inspired by the larger 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke R. It gets a redesigned LED headlamp with fang-shaped daytime running lights, a larger front cowl, slimmer side panels and a reshaped fuel tank.
KTM has also revised the tail section, which now integrates the indicators and taillamp into a single unit. The new 790 Duke also features graphics and the brand's signature orange paint scheme. It also gets a redesigned exhaust with a larger silencer.

2027 KTM 790 Duke: Powertrain

Powering the 2027 KTM 790 Duke is the same Euro 5+ compliant 799cc LC8c parallel-twin engine producing 105bhp and 87Nm of torque; this engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. KTM has revised the exhaust system but performance figures remain unchanged. KTM has also highlighted that it will also continue offering a lower-output version in select international markets where licence restrictions apply.

2027 KTM 790 Duke: Ergonomics & Chassis

One of the key highlights of the 2027 KTM 790 Duke is the revised rider triangle. KTM has introduced a redesigned seat, repositioned rider and pillion footpegs, and a new tapered handlebar with a more open sweep. According to the company, these changes are intended to reduce rider fatigue while improving confidence during aggressive riding. The motorcycle continues to use the Chromium Molybdenum steel frame from the outgoing model but now features a new black-finished subframe. KTM has also revised the triple clamps and made changes to the swingarm. Despite appearing larger than before, the motorcycle is now 2kg lighter, with a kerb weight of 185kg.

2027 KTM 790 Duke: Suspension & Braking

Suspension duties continue to be handled by WP APEX components. Up front, the motorcycle gets a 43mm upside-down fork with compression and rebound adjustability, while the rear monoshock offers preload and rebound adjustment. KTM has also introduced a simplified five-click suspension adjustment setup.
Braking performance has been enhanced with WP-developed radial brake components. The motorcycle uses twin 300mm front discs paired with WP calipers and a WP master cylinder, while a 240mm disc handles braking duties at the rear. A WP steering damper is now offered as standard, while Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres come fitted from the factory.
