Mercedes-Benz has introduced a comprehensive facelift for the C-Class sedan and estate, set for the 2027 model year. The car will be available in the US in early 2027, with an expected starting price slightly above $51,000.

Mercedes-Benz has globally unveiled a major facelift for the C-Class sedan and estate, bringing significant styling, feature and powertrain updates for the 2026 model year. The update marks the first comprehensive refresh for the fifth-generation C-Class, which was originally introduced in 2021.

The biggest visual changes are at the front. The updated C-Class gets redesigned headlights connected to black trim around the grille, giving it a look similar to the refreshed S-Class.
The grille itself is larger and extends further down into the bumper. It gets a chrome surround, an illuminated Mercedes-Benz badge and an LED strip running around its inner edge. The three-pointed-star design also appears inside the headlight and taillight elements.
Mercedes-Benz has also added illuminated puddle lamps on the mirrors and LED projectors integrated into the side sills. These can project patterns onto the road beside the car.
New wheel designs include a fresh 18-inch option and two 19-inch AMG designs. Buyers can also choose between new Miami Silver Metallic and Moody Sky Grey Metallic paint shades.
The new AMG Line Plus package adds a sportier appearance, along with sports seats featuring red stitching and red seatbelts.

The overall cabin layout remains largely familiar, but Mercedes-Benz has made several technology and usability changes. The steering wheel has been redesigned and now gets a physical scroll wheel for volume control.
The 11.9-inch central touchscreen continues to sit alongside a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. However, the car now gets an upgraded version of Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS operating system, which supports over-the-air software updates for the vehicle.
One of the key additions is an AI-powered virtual assistant for the MBUX infotainment system. It uses technology from ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini to handle more conversational requests.
Mercedes-Benz says the system can understand context during conversations and use it to make suggestions, including recommending music and podcasts. It can also help identify a song when the user cannot remember its title or artist.
An optional Burmester surround sound system with Dolby Atmos and 15 speakers is also available.
Other cabin additions include 64-colour ambient lighting, new Beech Brown and Cherry Red upholstery options, and new Natural Grain Birch Wood and High-Gloss Silver Metallic trim finishes.

Power comes from an updated version of the current 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
The integrated starter-generator can provide up to 23 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque at lower engine speeds. Mercedes-Benz has also added an electric auxiliary compressor that can build boost almost instantly, helping improve throttle response and acceleration.
The standard output remains unchanged at 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. However, a new boost function can provide an additional 27 hp for up to 20 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz has retuned the suspension to make the C-Class more agile. The adjustable dampers have also been revised to reduce body movement.
The company has redesigned the side mirrors to help reduce wind noise, while other measures have been introduced to make the cabin quieter.
The 2027 C-Class also gains an augmented-reality head-up display, a feature previously seen on higher-end Mercedes-Benz models such as the S-Class.

The updated C-Class is expected to reach US dealerships in the first half of 2027. Mercedes-Benz has not announced pricing yet, but the refreshed model is expected to cost slightly more than the 2026 C-Class, which starts at around $51,000 in the US.
