Ducati India has teased the new DesertX V2 on its social media channels, hinting at the motorcycle’s India launch later this year. The second-generation adventure bike was unveiled globally earlier in 2026 and is expected to reach India in the fourth quarter. The new DesertX V2 comes with a larger engine, updated chassis and revised ergonomics, along with a range of electronic features.
Key Highlights:
  • New Ducati DesertX V2 to launch in India in Q4 2026
  • Gets a new 890cc V2 engine producing 110 bhp and 92 Nm
  • 230 mm front and 220 mm rear suspension travel
  • Expected to cost more than the current DesertX Discovery at Rs 23.28 lakh

Ducati DesertX V2: Engine

The biggest update on the new Ducati DesertX V2 is its 890cc V2 engine. The motor produces 110 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 92 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine gets intake variable timing, while the gearbox has been tuned for both off-road and highway use. The lower gears are shorter to offer better control at slower speeds and on rough terrain, while the higher gears are designed to make highway riding more relaxed.

Ducati DesertX V2: Chassis and Suspension

The DesertX V2 is built around an aluminium monocoque chassis. Suspension duties are handled by a 46 mm fully adjustable KYB front fork with 230 mm of travel and a KYB rear shock with 220 mm of travel. The adventure bike continues with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup. It uses tubeless spoked wheels and Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, which are designed for a mix of road and off-road riding.

Ducati DesertX V2: Revised Ergonomics and Seat Height

Ducati has also made changes to the riding position. The handlebar, seat and footpeg positions have been revised to make it easier for riders to stand on the footpegs while riding off-road. The standard seat height is 880 mm. Ducati will also offer options that can bring the seat height down to 860 mm or 840 mm, making the motorcycle more accessible to a wider range of riders.

Ducati DesertX V2: 6 Riding Modes and More Electronics

The new DesertX V2 gets six riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro and Rally. The electronics package also includes cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control and engine-brake control. Other standard features include a 5-inch colour TFT display, cruise control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0.

Ducati DesertX V2: Braking and Hardware

Braking is handled by twin 305 mm front discs with Brembo four-piston radial callipers. At the rear, the motorcycle gets a 265 mm disc. With its long-travel suspension, 21/18-inch wheel setup and off-road focused electronics, the DesertX V2 continues to target riders looking for a more capable adventure motorcycle for both trails and long-distance touring.

Ducati DesertX V2 India price

Ducati currently sells the DesertX Discovery in India, with prices starting at Rs 23.28 lakh (ex-showroom). The new DesertX V2 is expected to be positioned above the existing model and could command a premium when it arrives in India. More details, including the exact India-spec variant and pricing, are expected closer to its Q4 2026 launch.
