Triumph Street Triple 798 Revealed Globally: Gets Bigger Engine, New Chassis and Sharper Design

Triumph is preparing a major update to its popular Street Triple range. The British motorcycle manufacturer has globally revealed the next-generation Street Triple 798 ahead of its full unveiling on November 17, 2026. While the company has not yet released complete specifications, the early details point towards significant changes to the engine, chassis and styling.
Key Highlights:
  • Triumph Street Triple 798 gets a larger 798cc inline three-cylinder engine
  • New engine is derived from Triumph’s Moto2 race programme
  • Motorcycle gets a redesigned chassis and revised rear suspension setup
  • Full details of the new Street Triple 798 will be revealed on November 17, 2026

Triumph Street Triple 798: Engine

The biggest change is the new 798cc inline three-cylinder engine. The motor is derived from the powerplant that Triumph supplies for the Moto2 racing championship. Triumph had earlier confirmed that the larger engine would deliver more power and torque than the outgoing unit. It gets a redesigned cylinder head and a new low-inertia valve train, along with a higher compression ratio. These changes are aimed at improving torque delivery across the rev range.
The new engine is also expected to be lighter than the current unit. However, Triumph is yet to reveal the exact power, torque and weight figures.

Triumph Street Triple 798: New Chassis

The Street Triple 798 also gets major changes underneath its updated styling. Triumph says the new chassis has been developed to make the motorcycle more agile. The swingarm appears to be a new, chunkier unit, while the rear monoshock has been repositioned. The main frame also looks significantly different from the outgoing motorcycle. The wheels, Brembo braking hardware and Showa front forks appear to have been carried over, although Triumph is yet to confirm the specifications.

Triumph Street Triple 798: Design and Exhaust

The new Street Triple 798 gets a sharper design compared to the current model. The signature twin bug-eyed headlamp setup has been replaced by a single-pod LED projector positioned between the motorcycle's angular LED DRLs. The exhaust system has also been redesigned, with the new motorcycle featuring an underslung exhaust can. Overall, the design appears to give the Street Triple a more aggressive appearance while retaining its streetfighter character.
