Ducati Hypermotard V2, V2 SP: Engine and Performance
The biggest update to the 2026 Ducati Hypermotard V2 lineup is its new 890cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. The motor produces 120.4bhp and 94Nm of torque, offering strong performance for both road riding and spirited runs.
The engine also features variable intake valve timing (IVT), which is designed to improve power delivery and provide a smoother response across the rev range. This technology helps the motorcycle deliver a more consistent riding experience at different engine speeds.
Both the standard V2 and the V2 SP share the same engine, with the key differences between them being their suspension setup, wheels, tyres and braking hardware.
Ducati Hypermotard V2, V2 SP: Redesigned Frame and Suspension
Ducati has completely redesigned the frame of the Hypermotard V2, helping reduce the motorcycle's weight. The standard V2 is 13kg lighter, while the V2 SP gets a weight reduction of 14kg. The lower weight is expected to improve handling and make the motorcycles more responsive.
The standard Hypermotard V2 features a fully adjustable 46mm upside-down Kayaba front fork. At the rear, it gets a Kayaba monoshock with adjustable preload and rebound settings.
The Hypermotard V2 SP gets more premium suspension components. It features a fully adjustable 48mm Öhlins NIX30 inverted front fork and a fully adjustable Öhlins STX46 rear monoshock. This setup is aimed at riders looking for more precise handling and greater suspension adjustability.
Ducati Hypermotard V2, V2 SP: Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
The two variants also differ in their wheel, tyre and braking hardware.
The standard Hypermotard V2 gets 17-inch cast light-alloy wheels at both ends, wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. Braking duties are handled by Brembo M4.32 brake callipers.
The more expensive Hypermotard V2 SP features forged 17-inch aluminium wheels, which help reduce weight. It runs on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres at both ends and gets Brembo M50 brake callipers for braking performance.
These upgrades give the SP variant more premium hardware than the standard model, making it the more track-focused option of the two.
Ducati Hypermotard V2, V2 SP: Features and Electronics
Both motorcycles come equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument console and a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). The IMU supports a range of electronic riding aids designed to improve control and stability. The available features include traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and a quickshifter, among other electronic systems. These features help riders manage the motorcycle's performance in different riding conditions.
While both variants share the core electronic package, the SP's upgraded suspension, wheels and brakes distinguish it from the standard V2.
Ducati Hypermotard V2, V2 SP: Price in India
The Ducati Hypermotard V2 is priced at Rs 16.53 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Hypermotard V2 SP costs Rs 20.78 lakh (ex-showroom). This puts the SP variant Rs 4.25 lakh above the standard model. The standard V2 is suited to buyers looking for the new engine and updated electronics, while the SP offers premium suspension, lighter forged wheels and upgraded braking components for riders who want more performance-focused hardware.
