Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV India Debut Set for December 2: Here's What to Expect

Honda Cars India has officially confirmed that its new 0 Alpha electric SUV is set to make its debut on December 2nd 2026. This upcoming model represents a significant addition to the manufacturer’s local portfolio, serving as the fourth new vehicle launch for the company in 2026. The announcement follows a busy year for the brand, which has already introduced the City facelift in May, the ZR-V hybrid in July, and the updated Elevate SUV earlier this month.
The 0 Alpha was first introduced to the public as a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2025. Since then, the vehicle has been subject to an extensive testing programme across India, which commenced in March 2026 at the company's Tapukara facility. These evaluations have been designed to test the SUV’s durability, handling, and efficiency across a variety of environments, ranging from dense urban traffic and highways to more challenging terrains and extreme weather conditions.

Honda 0 Alpha: Expected Design

While the production version of the 0 Alpha has yet to be fully unveiled, camouflaged test vehicles have provided insight into its design language. The SUV retains the upright proportions and tall roofline seen on the original concept, which are intended to maximise interior cabin space. Notable exterior features include squared-off wheel arches, a closed-off front grille, and aerodynamic wheels. The rear profile is characterised by an upright tailgate and a roof-mounted spoiler, suggesting a focus on utility and practicality.

Honda 0 Alpha: Expected Interior & Features

Interior spy shots have revealed a modern, minimalist cabin layout. The dashboard is expected to feature a large, landscape-oriented central touchscreen paired with a dedicated digital instrument cluster and a multifunction steering wheel. While Honda has not yet released the final equipment list or technical specifications, such as battery capacity, motor output, or range, these details are expected to be disclosed during the upcoming debut. The vehicle's final pricing and performance figures will be critical as it prepares to enter the competitive electric SUV segment in India.

Honda 0 Alpha: Strategic Importance for the Indian Market

The development of the 0 Alpha highlights India's growing importance in Honda’s global strategy. Despite the company recently scaling back some of its electric vehicle programmes in North America due to shifting market conditions, it has maintained its commitment to the 0 Alpha project. By positioning India as both a primary sales market and a manufacturing hub, Honda aims to leverage local production to ensure cost competitiveness.
