Creta Records Highest Ever Monthly Sales As Hyundai India Posts 10 Percent Growth in September 2025

Hyundai India has released its car sales data for September 2025. In September 2025 Hyundai managed to sell over seventy thousand units of passenger vehicles. This sales figure indicates a significant rise in monthly sales in comparison to the car sales of September 2024. However, if you look at the sales data below, you will notice that the major contributor to its overall growth has been the increase in exports, with domestic sales witnessing a marginal growth of under 1 percent.

The information shared by the company offers a deeper insight into its monthly car sales in India. It highlights that Hyundai has witnessed the best ever demand for its SUVs in India. As a result, SUV sales account for about 72.4 percent of its total monthly sales in September 2025.

The company also showered light on its most popular offering in the Indian market, Creta. The company has stated that the Creta has recorded its best ever monthly sales till date in the domestic market with 18,861 units sold in September 2025. Creta’s previous best monthly sales came earlier this year in January following the introduction of the Creta Electric where the company had managed to sell 18,522 units.

Apart from the Creta there is another SUV which posted strong numbers in the monthly sales charts for Hyundai India, the Venue. According to the company it managed to sell 11,484 units of the Venue in September 2025 which is the best number posted by this SUV in the last 20 months.

In September 2025 Hyundai managed to sell a total of 70,347 units of passenger vehicles (including PVs sold domestically plus exports from India) in September 2025. This sales figure represents a rise in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales by 6,146 units which further translates into a 9.57 percent decline in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales. In September 2024 Hyundai posted a total passenger vehicle sales of 64,201 units.

Last month Hyundai managed to sell 51,547 units of passenger vehicles in the domestic market. This sales figure represents a year-on-year increase in monthly domestic passenger vehicles sales by 446 units which further translates into a 0.87 percent growth in year-on-year monthly domestic passenger vehicle sales. In September 2024 Hyundai posted a domestic passenger vehicle sales of 51,101 units.

Last month Hyundai exported 18,800 units of passenger vehicles from India. This represents a year-on-year increase in monthly passenger vehicle exports by 5,700 units which further translates into a 43.51 percent year-on-year growth in monthly passenger vehicle exports. In September 2024 Hyundai exported 13,100 units of passenger vehicles.

Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director & Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “Our domestic sales in September stood at 51,547 units, driven by vibrant festive demand and strong customer interest across all segments. We have also witnessed highest-ever domestic SUV sales penetration in the history of the Company at 72.4%, with CRETA scoring the highest-ever monthly sales at 18,861 units. VENUE too reported a 20-month high sales volume of 11,484 units in September. A true example of Make in India, exports in September soared by nearly 44% YoY to 18,800 units, marking our highest export volume in the past 33 months since December 2022.”
