The company is establishing itself as an independent automotive brand with its first model slated to be the Combat plug-in hybrid SUV. The Combat PHEV will be introduced in India on December 4th 2026.
The Combat SUV is expected to enter the Indian market via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. This SUV is based on the Jetour T2, a rugged SUV produced by China’s Chery Automobile. While the global version of the Jetour T2 has recently undergone a facelift, industry reports suggest that the Indian-spec Combat will likely be based on the pre-facelift iteration of the vehicle.

JSW Combat PHEV: Expected Design & Specs

The JSW Combat is characterized by a boxy silhouette and an imposing road presence. In terms of dimensions, the underlying platform measures 4,785 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width, and 1,880 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. The vehicle offers a ground clearance of 220 mm, a five-seat configuration, and a cargo capacity of 752 liters. Exterior branding adjustments are expected, with the Combat nameplate likely replacing the Jetour badging on the front fascia.

Inside the cabin, the SUV is expected to mirror the features found in the Jetour T2. Anticipated equipment includes a 15.6-inch infotainment display, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-speaker Sony audio system. Comfort and convenience features are slated to include ventilated seats and a driver’s seat with memory functionality. Safety and driver assistance technology will be highlighted by a 540-degree camera system and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

JSW Combat PHEV:Expected Powertrain & Range

The JSW Combat is set to feature a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain. This system combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with an 18.4 kWh battery pack and two electric motors that drive the front wheels. The setup is paired with a dedicated 3-speed transmission, producing a combined system output of 360bhp and 610Nm of torque.
In terms of efficiency and range, the vehicle is expected to offer an electric-only range of approximately 90 kilometers. With the support of the hybrid system, the total driving range is projected to reach up to 1,100 kilometers.
