Kia Carens Clavis EV Gets BaaS, Prices Start From Rs 12.84 Lakh with Battery Subscription of Rs 3.3 Per Kilometre

The Kia Carens Clavis EV has been introduced with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) in India. Kia India has added the BaaS option to the Carens Clavis EV lineup to make this car more accessible which can increase EV adoption in the country. With BaaS the entry price of the Carens Clavis EV has been reduced to Rs 12.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
Apart from BaaS ownership model Kia India has also rolled out a new financing structure which separates the battery cost from the vehicle purchase price, allowing customers to opt for a lower upfront payment along with a usage-based battery subscription plan.
With BaaS, the Standard variant of the Carens Clavis EV equipped with the 42 kWh battery pack is now available at an effective price of Rs 12.84 lakh against its original ex-showroom price of Rs 17.99 lakh. Similarly, the Extended Range variant with the 51.4 kWh battery pack sees an ex-showroom price reduced to Rs 15.94 lakh from Rs 21.99 lakh.
Kia has fixed the battery subscription charge at Rs 3.3 per kilometre for both battery pack options. The company says the model has been introduced to improve accessibility for EV buyers by reducing the initial ownership cost.
The financing setup uses a dual-loan structure, where the chassis and battery are financed separately. Buyers can opt for repayment tenure of up to 60 months for the vehicle body, while the battery component can be financed for up to 96 months. Kia says the ownership package starts with a minimum down payment of Rs 51,520.
