The Fronx, launched in April 2023, saw its exports increase from 100,000 units in June 2025 to 200,000 in July 2026, indicating a surge in international demand.

Maruti Suzuki's Fronx has achieved another major milestone in international markets. The compact SUV has crossed 2 lakh export units in under 38 months since overseas shipments began, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Fronx exports reach 2 lakh units
According to Maruti Suzuki, cumulative exports of the Fronx reached 1 lakh units in June 2025. The figure doubled to 2 lakh units in July 2026.
The SUV is manufactured at Maruti Suzuki's Hansalpur plant in Gujarat and is currently exported to nearly 90 countries. Japan is among the key international markets for the Fronx.
"After crossing the milestone of 1 lakh exports in record time, Fronx reached its second lakh significantly faster, underlining its growing demand in the international markets," Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India said.
The Fronx has also strengthened Maruti Suzuki's position in India's passenger vehicle export market. According to SIAM data, it has been the country's most-exported passenger vehicle since FY25 and retained the position in FY26 as well as the first quarter of FY27.
The Fronx was also Maruti Suzuki's leading export model in Q1 FY27. Other major models shipped overseas during the quarter included the Jimny 5-Door, e Vitara, Dzire and Baleno.
Maruti Suzuki currently exports 17 models to nearly 120 countries. The company said it accounted for more than 55% of India's passenger vehicle exports during Q1 FY27.
Maruti Suzuki has remained India's largest passenger vehicle exporter for five consecutive years. The company says its growing export volumes reflect increasing acceptance of vehicles manufactured in India across international markets.
