Mercedes-Benz has recorded its best-ever sales performance in India for both a quarter and the first nine months of a year. The German luxury carmaker sold 15,190 vehicles between January and September 2026, registering an 8% increase over the 14,132 units sold during the same period last year.
Key Highlights:
- Mercedes-Benz sold 15,190 cars in India between January and September 2026
- Sales grew 8% year-on-year compared with the same period in 2025
- Q3 2026 sales stood at a record 5,422 units, up 6% YoY
- BEV sales grew 16%, led by strong demand for the CLA electric
The company also posted its highest-ever quarterly sales in India during the July-September period, with 5,422 vehicles retailed. This was a 6% increase compared with the 5,119 units sold in Q3 2025. Sales also rose 17% sequentially from the second quarter of 2026.
Mercedes-Benz said demand remained strong across its Top-End Luxury, Core Luxury and Entry Luxury portfolios. The company attributed the growth to new product introductions, an upgraded retail network and customer-focused initiatives.
The Top-End Luxury segment remained a major contributor, accounting for more than 25% of total sales during January-September 2026. Sales in this segment grew 13% year-on-year.
Models such as the GLS, S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach range and AMG G 63 continued to see strong demand. The extra-long-wheelbase V-Class has also gained popularity among buyers looking for a luxury vehicle for long-distance and airport travel.
Mercedes-AMG G 63 Sees Record Monthly Sales
Mercedes-Benz's MANUFAKTUR personalisation programme accounted for around 75% of Top-End Luxury vehicle sales during the first nine months of 2026. The programme offers buyers a wider choice of materials, design elements and customisation options.
The AMG G 63 also recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in India despite continuing to have a long waiting period, highlighting strong demand for the high-performance luxury SUV.
Mercedes Electric Car Sales Grow 16%
Mercedes-Benz's electric vehicle portfolio also continued to gain momentum in India. BEV sales grew 16% between January and September 2026 despite limited vehicle availability.
The CLA electric has emerged as a key driver of this growth, particularly among younger luxury car buyers. Mercedes-Benz says it has received more than 1,000 confirmed orders for the electric sedan, with deliveries extending until March 2027.
Other electric models, including the EQS SUV, Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and G 580, also continued to attract buyers in the top-end luxury segment.
