MG Hector, Astor, Gloster - New Prices After GST Rate Cut in India
JSW MG Motor India has passed on the benefits of the reduced GST rates to customers by lowering prices across its internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV range. The new prices came into effect from September 22, 2025 and extend to spare parts and accessories as well.
The GST 2.0 framework has changed how vehicles are taxed across segments. Petrol cars under four metres with engines up to 1,200cc now attract 18% GST, down from 29%. Diesel cars with engines below 1,500cc are also taxed at 18%, reduced from 31%. Mid-size cars now fall under the 40% slab instead of 45%. Large SUVs and luxury cars, earlier taxed between 48 to 50%, are now charged a uniform 40% GST.
The company has also introduced finance options such as 100% on-road funding and a three-month EMI holiday to make purchases easier for customers.

Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said, “The Government’s initiative to rationalise GST rates is a welcome step that directly supports car buyers by enhancing their purchasing power and fostering positive consumer sentiment. By passing on the full benefit of this reform to our customers, JSW MG Motor aims to make its SUV portfolio – Astor, Hector, and Gloster – even more accessible and attractive. As demand strengthens ahead of the festive season, this move reinforces our commitment to delivering value, promoting easier ownership, and encouraging more customers to experience the MG brand.”
