Norton Atlas: First Made-in-India Unit Rolls Out from Tamil Nadu Facility Ahead of July Launch

Norton Motorcycles has commenced production of the all-new Atlas motorcycle range, with the first unit rolling off the production line at Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu. This development comes ahead of the global debut of the motorcycle scheduled for July 2026.

Norton Atlas Range

Norton will introduce the Atlas in two versions, i.e. the standard Atlas and the road-focused Atlas GT. While the Atlas has been designed with adventure touring in mind, the Atlas GT caters to riders looking for a more road-oriented experience. The standard Atlas uses a 19-inch front wheel to improve capability on varied terrain, whereas the Atlas GT comes equipped with 17-inch wheels at both ends for enhanced on-road dynamics. Both motorcycles are based on a steel trellis frame and feature fully adjustable KYB suspension components.

Norton Atlas: Powertrain

At the heart of the Atlas family is a newly developed 585cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine featuring a 270-degree crankshaft configuration. The engine produces 69bhp and 57.5Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter.

Norton Atlas: Features

Norton has equipped the Atlas range with an extensive electronics package. Key features include a Bosch six-axis IMU, lean-sensitive rider assistance systems, multiple riding modes, cornering cruise control, smartphone connectivity through the Norton Rider app and an 8-inch TFT instrument display. The motorcycles also benefit from advanced safety and performance systems designed to support both touring and everyday riding duties.

When Will Norton Atlas Range Launch in India?

The global launch of the Norton Atlas range is scheduled for July 2026 and customer deliveries are set to begin in the third quarter of 2026. As far as the domestic market is concerned Norton had earlier confirmed that it plans to introduce the Atlas in India later this year.
