Porsche Cayenne Electric Launched in India: Top 5 Highlights

Porsche has entered a new chapter for its popular Cayenne SUV in India with the launch of the all-electric Cayenne Electric. The new luxury electric SUV combines strong performance with a claimed range of over 600 km, while retaining the familiar Cayenne design and premium cabin experience. The Porsche Cayenne Electric is available in two versions - Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric. Prices start at Rs 1.77 crore (ex-showroom), with deliveries of the standard version beginning from September 30, 2026.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric comes with a 113kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The standard version produces up to 442PS with Launch Control and 835Nm of torque.

It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 230 kmph. Porsche claims a range of up to 642 km on a single charge.

The Cayenne Turbo Electric takes performance to another level, producing up to 1,156PS and 1,150Nm with Launch Control. It can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 260 kmph. Its claimed range stands at up to 623 km.

The Cayenne Electric is based on an 800V electrical architecture and supports DC fast charging at up to 390kW. Porsche claims that the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in less than 16 minutes under suitable charging conditions.

The electric SUV also gets regenerative braking to help recover energy while driving.

While the Cayenne Electric retains the familiar silhouette of the petrol-powered SUV, Porsche has made several changes to give it a distinct electric identity. The front gets a more enclosed design along with aerodynamic elements and openings for airflow and cooling. Buyers can choose from 20-inch, 21-inch and 22-inch wheels.

At the rear, the SUV features a full-width LED light bar with Porsche lettering. The Turbo Electric gets additional styling elements to differentiate it from the standard Cayenne Electric.

Inside, the Cayenne Electric gets a fully digital dashboard featuring Porsche's Flow Display and a digital instrument cluster for the driver. An optional display is also available for the front passenger. The feature list includes an augmented-reality head-up display, AI-assisted voice control, digital key, electrically adjustable front seats, four-zone climate control, ventilated seats and a panoramic glass roof.

Other features include wireless smartphone charging and Mood Modes, which can adjust cabin lighting, air-conditioning, seating position, sound and displays.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric gets adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management as standard. Rear-axle steering is available as an option. The Cayenne Turbo Electric gets Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, while Porsche Active Ride is offered as an additional suspension option. These technologies are designed to enhance the SUV's handling and stability while maintaining the comfort expected from a luxury SUV.

With the Cayenne Electric, Porsche now offers Indian buyers a fully electric alternative to its conventional Cayenne, combining long claimed range with the high-performance character associated with the brand.
