Tata Aeris Variants Explained: Here’s What Each Trim Offers

Tata Motors has finally launched the new Aeris in India, replacing the Tigor in the sub-four-metre sedan segment. Prices start at Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom), and the new sedan gets a completely redesigned exterior, an updated cabin, more features and petrol as well as CNG powertrain options.

The Tata Aeris is available in five variants - Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished. Each variant gets a different combination of features and powertrain options. Here is a detailed look at what each Tata Aeris variant offers.

The Smart is the entry-level variant of the Aeris. It is priced at Rs 5.29 lakh for the petrol-manual version and Rs 6.29 lakh for the iCNG-manual version. There is no AMT option with this variant. Despite being the base version, the Smart gets features such as Tata's SportLux steering wheel, a dual-tone interior, a 12.7 cm digital instrument cluster and 14-inch steel wheels.

Safety features include six airbags, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, ABS with EBD and CSC and rear parking sensors. It also gets melange fabric front seats with under-thigh support, tilt steering, rear headrests and three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats.

The Pure sits above the Smart and is priced from Rs 6.14 lakh for the petrol-manual and Rs 7.14 lakh for the CNG-manual. It is also the first variant to get AMT options with both petrol and CNG powertrains. The Pure adds features such as a height-adjustable driver's seat, day/night IRVM, four power windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.

It also gets steering-mounted audio controls, speed-sensitive auto door locks, a rear defogger, central locking with a flip key and follow-me-home headlamps. Tata has also added its 15W ZipFast A+C charger and Bluetooth audio/BYOD functionality.

The Pure+ is priced at Rs 6.74 lakh for the petrol-manual and Rs 7.74 lakh for the iCNG-manual. Both petrol and CNG versions are also available with AMT.

This variant brings a significant jump in technology. It gets a 20.32 cm floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker audio system and an HD reverse parking camera. Other additions include a 65W front charger, rear AC vents and cruise control. Safety features are upgraded with ESP, traction control, iTPMS and Hill Hold Control.

The Pure+ also gets a rear centre armrest with cupholders and a front armrest with storage. Petrol versions get 15-inch Dynamic Hyperstyle wheels, while CNG versions get 14-inch Dynamic Hyperstyle wheels.

The Creative variant starts at Rs 7.49 lakh for the petrol-manual and Rs 8.49 lakh for the CNG-manual. It is available with both manual and AMT gearboxes. One of the biggest upgrades is the 26.03 cm HD touchscreen infotainment system. The variant also gets 15-inch Diamond Aero alloy wheels, a 360-degree SVS HD camera with multiple 2D and 3D views and a Blind View Monitor.

Other features include signature LED headlamps and DRLs, connected LED tail lamps, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps. The Creative also gets two tweeters, a one-shot driver-side window, passive entry and start, auto-folding ORVMs, chrome door handles and a cooled glovebox.

The Accomplished is the range-topping Aeris variant. It is priced at Rs 8.19 lakh for the petrol-manual and Rs 9.19 lakh for the iCNG-manual. Petrol and CNG AMT options are also available. The top-spec variant adds AeroLux ventilated leatherette front seats and LuxTouch leatherette seats. It also gets a dual smartphone deck with wireless charging and a Dashcam Recorder.

Tata's iRA connected-car technology, with more than 35 connected features, is also offered on this variant. Other additions include LED fog lamps, a 65W rear Type-C charger, a soft-touch leatherette front armrest with storage, magazine pockets, USB charging and iToggle window controls.

The Accomplished also gets adjustable front headrests, a chrome waistline and a dual-tone roof. It brings together the larger touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, Blind View Monitor, connected-car features and ventilated seats.

The Tata Aeris uses the same basic engine options as the outgoing Tigor. The petrol version gets a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Revotron engine producing 86 PS and 113 Nm. The iCNG version produces 75.5 PS and 96.5 Nm.

Both engines can be paired with a five-speed manual or five-speed AMT, depending on the variant. The CNG version uses Tata's twin-cylinder CNG technology and gets a 70-litre water-capacity CNG tank. It also supports direct starting in CNG mode.
