In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki announced that the company is planning to increase the prices of its cars from April 2025. The price increase is expected to be up to 4% and will vary depending on the model.
To justify this decision, the company stated, "We are continuously striving to optimize costs and minimize the impact on our customers; however, some portion of the increased cost may need to be passed on to the market."
This will be the second time in the last two months that Maruti Suzuki has increased vehicle prices by 4%. In January, the company hiked prices by Rs 1,500 to Rs 32,500 across various models.
Maruti Suzuki currently offers seventeen cars in the Indian market, with ex-showroom prices ranging from Rs 4.23 lakh to Rs 29.22 lakh. The lineup includes hatchbacks, SUVs, sedans, and MPVs.
Maruti Suzuki is offering big discounts before the end of the current financial year. Customers can save up to Rs 1.25 lakh on popular models like the Invicto, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Fronx and Ignis. These savings include discounts, offers, cash benefits, exchange bonuses and accessory packages.
In February 2025 Maruti Suzuki managed to sell a total of 1,85,812 units of passenger vehicles (including PVs sold domestically plus exports from India). This sales figure represents a decline in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales by 3,386 units which further translates into a 1.79 percent decline in year-on-year total monthly passenger vehicle sales. In February 2025 Maruti Suzuki posted a total passenger vehicle sales of 1,89,198 units.
