The Skoda Slavia has received its first major update since its launch in India. After around three and a half years, the midsize sedan gets a refreshed design, more features and a few important changes to its equipment list. However, the facelift continues with the same engine options as before. Here is a look at the old Skoda Slavia vs new Skoda Slavia and what has changed.

The facelift brings subtle changes to the Slavia’s exterior. At the front, the new model gets a redesigned bumper with a full-width shiny trim and smaller LED fog lamps. The grille retains its basic shape, but the chrome surround has been replaced by two black bars.
The headlamp housing remains unchanged, although the internal elements and daytime running light signatures have been revised.

From the side, the overall silhouette and proportions remain the same. The biggest visual change comes from the redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels, which now feature a bolder two-tone design.
At the rear, the tail-lamp housing is carried over but gets revised LED elements. The prominent ‘SKODA’ lettering on the boot lid has also been replaced by a plastic trim featuring the brand name. The rear bumper remains largely unchanged.
The facelift also introduces two new exterior colours: Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige.

The cabin follows the same overall layout, but the new Slavia gets some notable feature upgrades. The top-spec old model offered beige-and-black dual-tone leatherette seats, while the facelift gets fully beige seats with a new pattern.
One of the biggest changes is the instrument cluster. The new Slavia gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, up from the 8-inch unit available earlier.
The infotainment screen has also grown slightly, from 10 inches to 10.1 inches. It now gets a built-in AI assistant powered by Google Cloud. The screen also displays the feed from the new 360-degree camera.
Another addition is a massage function for the outer rear seats.
Features such as ventilated and powered front seats, a cooled glove box, electric sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, LED ambient lighting, six airbags, ESC, hill-hold assist and TPMS continue to be available.

The facelift continues with the same two turbo-petrol engines.
The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine produces 115hp and 178Nm, while the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine makes 150hp and 250Nm.
The smaller engine continues with a 6-speed manual gearbox, but the facelift now also gets an 8-speed torque-converter automatic, replacing the earlier automatic setup. The 1.5-litre engine continues to be offered with a 7-speed DSG automatic.

Skoda Slavia Old vs New: Variants

Skoda Slavia Facelift: Monte Carlo Edition

The old Slavia was available in Classic, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo trims. The facelift adds a new Classic+ variant, positioned between the Classic and Signature versions.
Overall, the Slavia facelift is more of an equipment and styling update than a major mechanical overhaul. It retains the same engines and basic design while adding new features and a few visual changes to keep the sedan competitive against rivals such as the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and updated Volkswagen Virtus.
