2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: What's New
A primary highlight of the 2026 update is the integration of ride-by-wire technology, which enables three distinct riding modes: Rain, Road, and Sports. These modes allow riders to adjust throttle response based on varying road conditions. Additionally, the motorcycle now includes cruise control, which can be engaged at speeds above 30 kmph. For performance-oriented riders, Hero has added a Pro Drag Race Timer, capable of recording 0–60 kmph acceleration times and quarter-mile runs. The Carbon variant distinguishes itself with a new multi-colour TFT display that supports connectivity and offers over 60 integrated features, including day and night modes. The Pro variant utilizes a multi-colour LCD console. Powering the entire range is the familiar 163.2cc, oil-cooled, four-valve engine, which produces 17.1PS at 8,750 rpm and 14.6Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Paired with a five-speed gearbox, the motorcycle maintains its claimed 0–60 kmph sprint time of 4.4 seconds.
Visually, the 2026 model features aggressive styling cues, including angular tank extensions, updated graphics, and an H-shaped LED DRL integrated into the Class-D LED headlamp. The Carbon variant is available in four colour schemes - Carbon Red, Carbon Black, Carbon Grey, and Abrax Orange; while the Pro variant is offered in Pro Red and Pro Black. The Standard model will later be available in Phantom Red and Pearl Black.
The chassis remains a tubular underbone diamond-type frame, supported by 37 mm KYB upside-down front forks and a seven-step adjustable rear monoshock. Braking is handled by 276 mm front and 220 mm rear petal discs, with dual-channel ABS standard on the Pro and Carbon variants. The Standard model will feature single-channel ABS and conventional telescopic forks. Safety is further bolstered by a Panic Brake Alert system, which automatically signals following traffic during instances of rapid deceleration.
