Renault Duster Hybrid: Powertrain & Mileage
At the heart of the Duster E-Tech 160 is a 1.8-litre Atkinson Cycle petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery pack. This system produces a combined output of 160PS, with the electric motor contributing 208Nm of torque. Unlike the e-CVT systems commonly found in segment rivals, Renault has opted for an intelligent multi-mode automatic transmission that utilizes eight fixed gear ratios and a dog clutch to manage power delivery. This configuration allows the vehicle to achieve a claimed 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 9.6 seconds. The standout figure for the new model is its ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 29 kmpl, which positions it competitively against other strong-hybrid SUVs currently available in the Indian market. Renault claims that the vehicle can operate in pure electric mode for up to 80% of city driving conditions, depending on battery charge and driving style. The 1.4 kWh battery is uniquely cooled by refrigerant rather than air or water, a design choice intended to optimize thermal management. With a full tank, the manufacturer estimates a maximum driving range of approximately 1,400 km.
Renault Duster Hybrid: What's New
Beyond the powertrain, the Duster Hybrid receives several aesthetic and functional upgrades compared to the standard turbo-petrol models. These include an illuminated front grille and frequency-dependent dampers designed to enhance ride quality. Inside, the cabin features two new interior themes, including a Dune Brown option paired with lighter-colored pillars.Renault Duster Hybrid: Warranty
Renault is also emphasizing long-term ownership value by offering a 7-year warranty on the vehicle, along with a specific 8-year or 160,000 km warranty on the hybrid battery pack. Additionally, customers can opt for the 'Renault Protect 360' package, which bundles three years of insurance, maintenance coverage, and an assured buyback scheme for an additional cost of Rs 89,900. These measures are part of a broader effort to bolster the Duster’s market presence, which saw cumulative sales of 7,418 units between January and September 2026.Log in to post a comment.
