2027 Tata Nexon Spied Testing with Bigger Alloy Wheels and Revised Design

The next-generation Tata Nexon has been spotted testing giving a closer look at its redesigned front end and new alloy wheels. The test mule gets wheels similar to those offered on the Tata Curvv, while its more upright body and revised styling indicate that the upcoming model could be a generation change rather than a regular facelift. Tata Motors has not yet confirmed the specifications or launch date of the new Nexon. However, multiple test sightings have already revealed changes to its exterior.

The latest test mule is seen with black-and-machined alloy wheels featuring a pattern similar to the units available on the Tata Curvv. The exact size of the wheels cannot be confirmed from the spy images. The Curvv is available with 17-inch and 18-inch wheel options, depending on the variant. The current Nexon, meanwhile, uses 16-inch wheels. This raises the possibility that the new Nexon could get larger wheels, particularly on higher variants.

However, the wheels seen on the test vehicle may not be the final production units. Tata has previously used existing alloy designs on development vehicles. The Harrier facelift, for example, was spotted testing with Hexa-sourced 19-inch wheels before the production model received a different alloy design.

The latest images also show changes to the front end. While the test vehicle remains heavily camouflaged, the overall design appears different from the current Nexon. Previous spy shots indicated a more upright and squared-off rear profile, along with temporary tail-lamp units. The combination of these changes suggests that Tata is working on a more comprehensive redesign. The test vehicle does not feature flush-fitting door handles.

The next-generation Nexon is expected to continue with petrol, diesel, CNG powertrain options. The multiple media reports suggest that specifications are expected to remain close to the ongoing model. The petrol engine could continue with 118bhp and 170Nm torque tune, while the turbo-CNG version could generate 99bhp and 170Nm of torque. The diesel engine is expected to retain its 113bhp and 260Nm of torque output. It is also being anticipated that the 2027 Nexon could be compatible with higher ethanol-blended fuel for the petrol engine options.

Tata Motors has not announced an official launch date for the next-generation Nexon. The SUV is expected to arrive in India in 2027, with further details likely to emerge as testing continues. All the above details remain unconfirmed from Tata Motors.
