Ashok Leyland Launches Air-Suspension Truck Range: Introduces 49T, 46T and 45T MAV Models
Ashok Leyland has launched a range of multi-axle trucks equipped with advanced air suspension technology. The new lineup includes the AVTR 4925 10x2 MAV, AVTR 4625 10x2 MAV, and AVTR 4525 8x2 MAV, aimed at improving payload capacity, operating efficiency, and driver comfort.
Key Highlights:
- Ashok Leyland has launched the country's first range of multi-axle trucks with advanced air suspension technology.
- The lineup includes the AVTR 4925 10x2 (49T), AVTR 4625 10x2 (46T), and AVTR 4525 8x2 (45T) MAV trucks.
- The 49-tonne model offers up to 1.5 tonnes of additional payload.
- All models come equipped with Intelligent Vehicle Acceleration Control (iVAC) and Automatic Traction Control (ATC).
The company said the new range has been developed to offer higher payload capability while keeping acquisition costs competitive and enhancing overall fleet productivity.
Up to 4-Tonne Payload Advantage
Leading the range is the AVTR 4925 10x2 MAV, India's first 49-tonne truck to feature an air suspension system. According to the company, the model offers a payload advantage of up to 1.5 tonnes over conventional alternatives.
The AVTR 4625 10x2 MAV and AVTR 4525 8x2 MAV are also claimed to be the country's first air-suspended trucks in the 46-tonne and 45-tonne categories, respectively. These models provide a payload advantage of up to 4 tonnes through weight-saving measures, enabling fleet operators to maximise revenue per trip.
Enhanced Comfort and Efficiency
The new truck range will be available in both cowl and factory-built cabin versions, with multiple loading span options to cater to different applications.
Ashok Leyland says the air suspension system improves vehicle stability under full load, reduces structural vibrations, and enhances ride comfort, particularly on uneven road surfaces.
To further improve operational efficiency, the company has equipped the entire lineup with Intelligent Vehicle Acceleration Control (iVAC) and Automatic Traction Control (ATC) as standard. These systems are designed to enhance fuel efficiency while providing better traction across varying road and terrain conditions.
