Bentley Flying Spur Returns with Continental GT Inspired Design and 671bhp Hybrid Powertrain
British luxury automaker Bentley has revealed the updated new Flying Spur, with design, technology and powertrain updates. This latest update aligns the Flying Spur more closely with the Continental GT range while also reintroducing the performance-oriented S variant to the line-up.
The revised range now includes Standard, Azure, S, Speed and Mulliner variants. Production is scheduled to begin at Bentley’s Crewe facility in September 2026, with customer deliveries scheduled to commence from Q4 2026.
New Bentley Flying Spur: Design
One of the most significant changes to the 2027 Flying Spur is its redesigned front fascia. The sedan adopts the latest headlamp design seen on the Continental GT, replacing Bentley’s traditional quad-headlamp arrangement. According to the company, this is the first Bentley sedan since the early 1960s to move away from the four-headlight layout.
The new oval-shaped LED headlamps feature integrated daytime running light elements, while the front bumper receives revised air intake designs. Bentley has also removed the slim fender vent positioned behind the front wheels, giving the profile a cleaner appearance.
At the rear, the sedan gets updated LED light signatures and a revised boot lid design. New wheel options, including 22-inch designs for the Azure and S variants, have also been introduced.
New Bentley Flying Spur S
Bentley has brought back the Flying Spur S, positioning it between the standard variants and the range-topping Speed and Mulliner models.
The Flying Spur S is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine with an electric motor. The system produces 671bhp and 930 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a claimed time of 3.7 seconds and it has acclaimed top speed of 308 kmph.
The S variant comes equipped with adaptive suspension, active anti-roll technology, torque vectoring and an electronic limited-slip differential as standard. Bentley says these chassis systems are aimed at enhancing handling while maintaining long-distance comfort.
New Bentley Flying Spur Speed And Mulliner
At the top of the range, the Flying Spur Speed and Mulliner retain Bentley’s most powerful plug-in hybrid V8 setup. This powertrain generates a combined power output of 771bhp and 1,000Nm of torque, making the Flying Spur Speed the most powerful four-door Bentley. Both variants accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a claimed time of 3.5 seconds.
Across the range, Bentley uses a 25.9 kWh battery pack paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel-drive system. The company claims an electric-only driving range of up to 80 km.
New Bentley Flying Spur S: Exterior
The Flying Spur S receives several visual differentiators compared to other variants. These include a dark-finish grille, black exterior trim elements, tinted headlamps and tail lamps, black mirror caps, side sill extensions and dark-finished exhaust outlets. The blacked-out treatment is intended to distinguish the S from the more luxury-focused Azure and Mulliner variants.
New Bentley Flying Spur: Interior & Features
On the inside Bentley has introduced new upholstery, trim and embroidery combinations through its latest Virtuoso Collection. On the features front it gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, 21-speaker Naim for Mulliner audio system, which was previously developed for the limited-production Bentley Batur. Bentley’s rotating display remains available on select variants. Rear-seat occupants continue to get features such as heating, ventilation, massage functions and multiple seat adjustment settings.
