BMW has officially expanded its electric SUV lineup with the introduction of the iX3 M60 xDrive. Positioned as the new performance-focused flagship for the model range, this variant arrives as the most powerful SUV built on the company's Neue Klasse architecture to date. The vehicle integrates significant powertrain enhancements and M-specific upgrades designed to elevate its dynamic capabilities while maintaining substantial long-distance efficiency.

BMW iX3 M60 xDrive

The iX3 M60 xDrive utilizes a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration, with one electric motor mounted on each axle. This setup delivers a combined output of 612hp and 875Nm of torque. A key technical highlight is the inclusion of BMW’s new Gen6 electric motor at the rear, which the manufacturer credits for the increased power and torque figures. According to official performance data, the SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-100kph in 3.9 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 240kph.
Despite its focus on high-output performance, the iX3 M60 xDrive retains impressive range figures. The vehicle is equipped with a 108.7kWh battery pack, which facilitates a claimed range of up to 754km based on the WLTP testing cycle. BMW has engineered the electrical system to support high-speed charging, with the vehicle capable of accepting DC fast charging at rates of up to 400kW. Under optimal conditions, the manufacturer states that users can add up to 340 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes of charging. For home or workplace charging, the vehicle includes support for AC charging at speeds of up to 22kW.
Beyond the powertrain, the M60 variant distinguishes itself with a suite of M-specific performance upgrades provided as standard equipment. These enhancements are intended to complement the increased power delivery and ensure the vehicle aligns with the performance characteristics associated with the M badge. While the technical specifications highlight a significant leap in capability, the vehicle maintains the core design and utility expected of the iX3 series.
Looking ahead, BMW has confirmed the production timeline for this new performance variant. Manufacturing of the iX3 M60 xDrive is scheduled to begin at the company’s facility in Debrecen, Hungary, in the spring of 2027.
